Karma is directed at the staff not the kid... And what was stated about how the other kid was handled is dead on
Dovetail, Jackson Argoe was Caravels QB. He transferred to Elkton when the kid from ECA transferred to Caravel. Then Caravels new QB probably suffered a season ending injury today.
This is so unnecessary. A kid suffering a major injury is not the time to crow about what happened with the previous quarterback, if anything happened at all.
Dont try and make the post out to be more than what it is.... Has nothing to do with the kid and if that is how you or anybody else took it I apologize.... If you read my initial post I clearly state that.... This has to do with the staff and how I bet the wishes they treated the other kid better and he never left the school.... That's it.... No one did the Argoe kid dirty that is BS. This is not rec league nothing is garanteed.. The Barker kid chose to go to CA for a variety of reasons.. none of which was a promise as the starting QB.. Argoe would have to compete for the job for the first time in two years and they decided to bail and not compete ,, end of story..
In fairness, Kent Island would roll CA too, regardless of who was quarterback.
The difference between us is that I have an unbiased opinion... Nothing ties me to any of the schools etc... Just call a spade a spade.. this spade just happens to be the situation with your beloved bucs

Barker competes, he understands life is a series of competitions, so you win and others you lose. Had ECA continued, he'd have graduated from there. Had IMG wanted a 3-star backup for Mond, and had offered a tuition discount, that's where he'd have finished after ECA.
He put himself I competition with Sills everyday (7v7 and later HS), and into the backup role to play against the likes of DeSoto (TX), St Edward (OH), DeMatha( MD)...etc as a Soph, and against IMG (FL), Gilman (MD), St Joes Regional (NJ) as a Jr. You'd be hard pressed to find many QBs having faced as many top-50 teams in the nation, particularly in the DMV area.
He sought out the Rivals/UA Columbus Regional (he finished 1st of 80 QBs), and placed 2nd in Balt finals (there were four regionals) (12 QBs holding 103 offers). Perhaps he could teach you a thing or two about testing yourself and learning something new.
I'm an uncle, and I'm done with the board until he shows up to compete vs Delaware HS players this baseball season.

I personally do not have a problem with this post-its not a shot at the kid-just 1 guy expressing his opinion on how he thinks this is "karma" on the staff at Caravel. That said this ain't the NFL- the team did not cut the kid- HE LEFT and that's the end of that. No Karma.....No Bullcrap....end of damn story. I wish a speedy recovery for Barker and best of luck to Argoe. Its as simple as that.

Since you brought the kid up, yeah, it kinda does have something to do with the kid. Since you chose to celebrate the injury as some kind of divine intervention to correct some possible coaching staff underhandedness, yeah, it is tasteless and classless. There is no twisting of your words here, it is clear what you did.

The guy started his post with saying he never wants to see a kid get hurt and hopes he bounces back before referring to "they" which as you said was referring to the coaching staff which in his opinion pushed a player out in favor of another. If your gonna crucify this guy for this post on the premise he's bringing the "kids" into then this whole forum should be shut down because when it comes down to it every post here is about a specific school with a specific team and on that team are a bunch a kids playing football. So every post is "bringing kids into it".

The kid is a competitor. Was always thrust into situations he was to young for at ECA. Cant wait to watch him pitch,,,God speed on his recovery
End of day Argo left because he was afraid to compete. Say what you want but he knew he would lose the QB job to Barker.

I don't want to put it on the kid.. It very well could have been the parents decision..I don't know but I have worked with the kid a few times and he was very disinterested in learning anything

Valid points. Hey I have two football players and I recognize some kids are just better so in this case I might have moved my kid too. Trust me I get it unfortunately many parents don't.
My kids will not play college football like %99 of others on this board it's just about having fun. So if football was that important to the kid and it is his senior year and Barker is just better then transfer and play ball. Nothing wrong with that.
That's one thing that kills me with Sallies right now a ton of kids go there and will never play but talk about thier championship rings. No offense if you didn't play it's a participation ring not a championship ring. Go to another school and play. Most kids will never have the experience of playing college football so high school is the last chance you have if the rush of playin football. It's more important to play then win a championship. These kids all need to go some were they can actually play.
What a silly view. Ever see the movie Rudy? I suppose you would back some sort of "starter, 2nd string, third string" sort of jersey patch so you could bust some of these kids at the mall. Some of you guys are just too much

Salesianum invented the Participation Ring generation. I personally know of parents that send their kid their for that sole purpose. Worse- I have seen a bunch of kids whose parents thought their kid was a stud all-star only to have them sit the bench or get cut from the team! Then they have the nerve to bitch.
Parents can sometimes do more harm when they get too involved/invested in their kids sports "careers". Guide them and let them go.
Because those 2nd and 3rd strings guys that scrimmage the starters every week have nothing to do with those guys winning on game day right? You guys are awesome!
Rudy busted his ass and played 2 plays could of went to Kutztown and started. Had fun actually playing. My point is be self aware and compete at the right level and have fun
