Game between Mt Pleasant and St George Saturday at 4:00 at St Marks.

I have to go with Mount. What's everybody think?

I don't know what's going on with Burnett. Again tonight he sat the first quarter and didn't start the second half...
Not the first time I've seen this...

But he still ends up high scorer

I don't know if anyone has an answer for mount inside for Cramer/ Backus and Shipman-Scott. Scott is an undersized beast in the paint, penn was just over matched In the paint and on the glass. Defensively Mount is hard to score on there guards are scrappy and there bigs are kangaroos you have to pump fake or adjust every shot. Markee Johnson for (Penn) is a player he tried to do what he could he had a big time block on Backus's 2 hand dunk! Mount is just to Deep they have 8/9 players that will start for 90% of the other teams in state... Looking forward to the Burnett/Rawls matchup! It's hard to believe Mount's Cramer is a 14 yr old true freshman that kid is electrifying and he has nice touch

Even if Cramer doesn't grow another inch (which I find hard to believe because he's about 6'6 and 200 pounds at 14 or 15), if he works on his handle and develops an outside shot, he'll be highly sought-after by colleges in VERY short order.

I think a key will be whether Rawls and Hyland can hit the outside shot. Penn got nothing outside last night and as you say they couldn't match up inside. So there went any chance they had.

St George seems like they've pulled together since losing Hamrick. I think they'll be a tougher test than Penn...

I love the kid Cramer BUT word to the wise for all involved with him DO NOT let them make you believe that you are supposed to be stuck in the painted area simply because you are the tallest kid on the team. Continue to work on your dribbling, shooting and decision making away from the basket as he will be a wing on the next level......

Agreed dnell. I hope he stays at Mount and doesn't allow these street agents to tell him otherwise. Lisa will do right by him and keep him on the right track if he listens to her. He is a special talent. His dunks are Grown Men Dunks but he has to work on his handle and jump shot in the off season. He has a soft touch a the foul line. His Dunk and timing on Block Shot are incredible. WOW.

Mounts wins 64-39 game was never a contest

Never ever a contest.

Not that it mattered, but the refs were pretty bad. Way too many fouls called. Late calls. Wrong calls.

But MP clearly on a roll going into tournament.

Not much of a game. Both teams didn't look all that great offensively. Mt Pleasants defense and scoring from so many different players when Burnett was having a sub par game (he didn't score a field goal) was the difference.

St Georges: Rawls-16, Brown-7, Harris-1, Hyland-4, Royal-3, Kent-4, Williams-2, McCants-1, Bradford-1

Mount Pleasant: Burnett-10, Holland-5, Taylor-13, Myrick-8, Backus-2, Caldwell-3, JBrown-6, Shipman-Scott-4, Cramer-9, Johnson-4

The highlight of the game was a pass kicked by a defender that went all the way up to the top row of the stands. A woman in a white sweatshirt showed outstanding hands coming up with the loose ball on the fly. She then fired a pinpoint no look pass over the St George bench back onto the court.

That was impressive

And as usual the tricky tack fouls made the game hard to watch.......

I hate to be one of those who complains about the officiating, but it's been rough to watch for boys and girls ball this season. Still waiting for a Eurostep to not be called a travel or breathing on another kid to be called a foul. It slowed the game down for Mount and St. Georges and it was tough to watch.
