STM 56-44, final. Caravel led early and was up 21-17 with 4 minutes left in the half. STM had played all man up to that point and Caravel was getting layups. STM went 1-2-2 zone then and Caravel did not score for the rest of the half. No outside shooters. Was 31-21 STM at the half. Each had runs in the second half but STM closed with a 10-3 run to take it. STM has quickness, leaping ability (especially #35), and speed. They can't seem to slow down though. Could hurt them later. Their bigs can really get up very quickly. They blocked at least 15 shots. Lots of turnovers and missed fouls shots both ways, but an entertaining game. STM is worth watching. Caravel played hard, but didn't have the size to stay with them for 32 minutes.

Appo did the same thing to Caravel on D. Until they went into a zone they could not stop Parker or Alderman from driving. Caravel showed how to stop Appo when they face guarded Cale not letting him get the ball. Problem is they got into foul trouble. The officials needed oxygen after the game from blowing their whistles so much. Someone should tell the refs to let kids play. Basketball is a physical game. You don't have to blow your whistle every time someone gets touched. Let it go!

AP this is a great summary.

STM to me lacks a true point guard to control tempo, get the ball to the right guy / right time. They can't turn it over that often and go deep in the tournament. But they have talent no doubt.
