It’s been almost forever since I actually had to use Math, but, correct me if im wrong, but if you minus 7 on the left side you’re supposed to add the 7 to the right side. It’s always the opposite of what you do, therefore X = 20

Lake can go 3-1 and be at that 4.0 but not guaranteed in.... If it goes to the tie 4.0 breaker scenario they would be out.

To be honest Lake should be the one out between the 4 as they had the weakest schedule by far.

You're right BIB, there is a scenario where Lake, Friends, Delmar and Archmere all end up with 40 points and Lake loses the tiebreaker. For this to happen requires:

1. Friends wins out and New Church wins out giving Friends 2 bonus points.
2. Delmar wins Laurel, Seaford and IR and loses to Woodbridge while Parkside wins their first round playoff game giving Delmar 2 bonus points.
3. Lake beats Seaford, Laurel and Milford and loses to Woodbridge.
4. Archmere wins out.

You always do the same thing to both sides. For instance, 1 = 1 and 1 + 1 = 1 + 1.

The answer is X = -50, not X = 50 by the way.

You can correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that I had read in the play-off rules (for some odd reason) a couple of years back that only regular season (wins and loses) count toward play-off points for out of state opponents, which would not get an extra point for Delmar. I'll have to go back and read the rules.

read earlier in this thread its explained in rule 5. It used to be that way but it was changed not sure when but lets call it the Maryland rule lol

i will repost

Item 5. Tournament Seeding

2. For out-of-state opponents, the first 10 regular season games that they play in the 2019 season will constitute their 10 game schedule for the purposes of their final record. This may include playoff or tournament games.

The highlighted part was added at some point but the play-off game still can't happen later than 11/9 or it wont count. Marylands first round is slated for 11/8 and 11/9

Thanks BIB. I knew I had read this a few years back when this discussion was going on. Our selection would happen on 11/10...so presumably the Parkside playoff game may impact Bonus points (interesting).

Right now Parkside is the 4 seed in the region so they would play the 5 seed so it's not a gimme game

2A east 1-8 in points make it..

More current after week 6.. 2A East

How come DIAA can't put something like this out? MPSSAA does it for every sport..

Just some FYI's... Harford Tech plays Elkton week 9... Parksides loss was to North Caroline

Another interesting point. Easton if they make the tournament they will likely lose 1st round and Delmar won't get that bp BUT if they fall to 9 they go to the consi tournament and would likely win that game giving them 7 wins and a BP for Delmar...BUT then again for them to fall to 9 they would have lost a game and couldn't get to 7 anyway lol hmmmm

You guys better get the calculators out. What’s the DMA and Caravel loss mean?

pretty sure CA is safe but that might put DMA in jeopardy.

It means the winner of the DMA/Caravel game in week 9 is in and the other is out.

Well will make that an interesting game. Though

do you get 1 or 2 for a loss to D1?

if it’s 2 I think even with a loss to DMA CA would be at 34 and edge Delmar. If it’s one they would be at 33.

honestly don’t think it will matter this CA wins

If Caravel somehow managed to lose to DMA, Caravel would only have 36 points. No way they are getting in with only 36 points.
