2017 AAU Junior Olympic Games recap:
Team DE sent two teams to Novi Michigan to compete in the AAU Junior Olympic games Freestyle wrestling tournament. Both teams wrestled 14 dual meets over 4 days. Those teams were made up of Delaware locals from Salesianum, DMA, McKean, Concord, St. Georges, Middletown, Milford, Cape, Sussex Central, Poly Tech, Delcastle, Sanford, Wilm. Friends and AI DuPont.

Delaware Blue went 7-7 winning the border war with Maryland (3-1) They defeated some tough Ohio teams and were always in every match despite not having 2 weights filled.

Delaware Gold went 2-12 at the mercy of the forfeit. Even spotting their opposition points they wrestled every match close and were set to win a few more from the effort of the squad.

All wrestlers got great exposure to Freestyle and to nationally ranked wrestlers. This event brought some of best wrestlers and teams together and really showed our DE guys what the next level looks like. We are bringing home a ton of experience and skills to improve on.
