11-23-13-In a Division I semi final round of the DIAA State High School Football Tournament that was played at Wilmington's Baynard Stadium, the 2nd seed Sals of Salesianum improved their record at 10-1 as defeated they defeated the Dover Senators in a well contested 41-35 win in overtime. With the game tied at 35-35, Penn State bound Troy Reeder scored the game winner on a 10 yard touchdown run and will face the top seed Middletown Cavaliers in the championship round
In another Division I semi final round game of the DIAA tournament, the Cavaliers of Middletown for their 2nd year in a row have advanced to the championship round as Boston College bound Darius Wade scored 2 touchdown runs of 17 and 20 yards and he threw touchdown passes of 10 and 24 yards to Penn State bound Rich Godwin, 8 and 80 yards to Dennis Burger defeated the Riders of Caesar Rodney by a 43-22 score.
In a Division II semi final game in its 6th year of the football program and for the first time in school history, the top seed Hawks from St. Georges pulled out another miracle trick out of the rabbits hat on twin brothers Taronn Selby 181 yards rushing and Keyjuan Selby 126 yards rushing defeated the Woodbridge Raiders by a 37-21 score.
In another Division II semi final game the 2nd seed Hodgson Silver Eagles have won 9 games in a row on 2 Daniel Diggs touchdown runs of 4 and 10 yard touchdown, Ray Jones 27 yard touchdown, Justin Hardy 66 yard touchdown run as they defeated the defending Division II state champion Buccaneers of Caravel by a 48-0 score. Will play St. Georges in a rematch of the September 28th game for the Division II title at Delaware Stadium dates and times TBD.
For the first time since the DIAA Football State Tournament started in 1971 up until 1974 Tubby Raymond Field at Delaware Stadium hosted those championship games and will be the site of the Division I and II football title games either Saturday, November 30th, 2013 or Sunday, December 1st, 2013.
