Final Baynard Report

Options 2, 3 and 4 are pointless because Potter's job is to raise that funding and he doesn't even want to pay contractors, so how the hell is he gonna raise the 20 million that Sallies was willing to put up?

That leaves option 5 which was - SURPRISE! Let Sallies make the damn improvements. What a bunch of idiots.

Nice Piece of Analysis.

I'll say this one last time. Sallies; walk away! When you make a deal with these people you make one with the devil and the terms of the deal will be perennially "revisited" after good money is pumped in. Annual revenues of $50,000 plus, wow! So much for the observations of Jones' pin headed wife that non profit organizations were in the deal for for something more than civic good. Tell the city and Potter to go to hell. If I get a letter from the alumni association asking me to help with this, I will burn it.

As much as I want to see Baynard survive and thrive, I definitely understand Dove's point of view. Potter and his merry band of idiots ruined what could've been a great project.

I believe The Sals should continue to buy up the properties along their side of Broom street and then knock the buildings down and build their own stadium. Salesianum does not need Baynard or the city. The Alumni will come out in droves to donate for a new stadium. Tell city council to go pound sand.

I am all for political retribution, mean spirited vengeance and giving the middle finger to elected officials who are arrogant. But.....the report says the Mayor would make the decision. Mike Purzycki knows what he is doing. The ball is in Salesianum's court.

Their leadership should call back the donors and give their proposal to the Mayor. They should build the place and act like nothing ever happened. They should say Wilmington is a great town and the city leadership is wise.

(Bummy has been out of Wilmington now over 40 years. It is a great city. There are 1900 vacant houses. I think all deprepsters should move into the city.)

What do you guys think?

They're shooting 6 year olds in the head. I'll pass.

Other than high school sports events, blue rocks games and the train station, I can say I've never been to Wilmington and I am a Delawarean. The news papers are more than enough to cure my need to go. I stand corrected I have played a couple of golf courses that would be considered Wilmington I guess.

Early 80's you could get a house for a $1.00 if you rehab it and lived there for 5 years.

Some of my finest Friday nights started and finished with a dinner and show at the Jack in the box and Printz Liquors.

Went to Al's Sporting Goods once and missed a turn ended up driving through East Baltimore.. Lets just say I ignored all stop signs and traffic lights

The late Dan Frawley bought one of those houses and got elected Mayor twice!

rider...I thing that both Porky Oliver's and Rock Manor are technically in the city limits. Also, if memory serves me correctly you may have played a HS Bball game at Howard?

Excuse me. I just saw where you mentioned sporting events.

Played at Howard in 83, I've played rock manor, ed Oliver and DuPont, I try to play at least once a week sometimes twice if the wife allows it lol

Purzycki released a statement today confirming what we've already suspected - the public/private partnership is the best bet for Baynard going forward. Anyone interested in contributing has 14 days to submit a letter stating their intentions to do so. I hope Sallies is willing to forgive and forget, but I truly understand if they aren't.

I have been a big proponent of the Sallies plan from the start. While the quotes on both sides seem very optimistic, I am quite worried about this whole 14 day thing. All it will take is one other entity to make a bid and that could lock this thing up in court for years. Or worse, turn over Baynard to some carpetbaggers just looking to make a quick buck.

I hear you, ikey....If there is only one bid it should be slam dunk. It is hard for me to believe that somebody is going to come to the table with a better plan or better financing than the Big S. I remain optimistic but realize that it could get held up. This last delay alone was 6 months---- enough time to have probably gotten the away side stands done. I remain hopeful.
