Somebody should contact Concord High School and ask them what the hell happened to their football program.
Funniest thing I ever heard from a Smyrna fan, lets just pretend the Galban brothers and Earl moved down to Smyrna for the juggernaut educational system lol
I have no idea who anybody involved is, I thought it was interesting given the discussion.Funniest thing I ever heard from a Smyrna fan, lets just pretend the Galban brothers and Earl moved down to Smyrna for the juggernaut educational system lol
That guy has been posting stuff since the spring regarding coach Lincoln and DMA.I have no idea who anybody involved is, I thought it was interesting given the discussion.
They are mad that a freshman stud chose DMA over Smyrna and have been writing letters to DIAA over it since. People have motives behind a lot of these rumors, on an aside, I did the chains last night, Archmere is a great team for sure. The rest of 2A will be any given friday…Howard at a 9 seed should be scary to anyoneI have no idea who anybody involved is, I thought it was interesting given the discussion.
For me it’s simple. Want to transfer, transfer. You have rules, play within them or get penalized. Stop with scholarship stuff. You make it sound like it’s IMG giving out 60k per student. If DIAA will allow this to go on, you will see the results. Running clocks will get worse and worse. You will have a handful that can compete. Again, if that’s how you want it ok. Got no problem with it. However there are rules in place correct? They are mad that a freshman stud chose DMA over Smyrna and have been writing letters to DIAA over it since. I agree with you if someone wants to leave and go to another school it shouldn't be a problem. It's the same in college where at some schools they won't let you transfer to another school in the same conference, it is BS. And I agree regarding last night. Archmere outplayed them. DMA made plenty of mistakes and Archmere capitalized on them, like a good team should. And they played mistake free. The top 6 do have a chance and I would still give St. Marks a shot because they took archmere and Woodbridge to the wire. For me it’s simple. Want to transfer, transfer. back to the transfer from DMA to Sallies. They had to block that? I have no horse in that race. Just watching on the outside and it’s Horse ————!
This is a great board with educated people with opinions. What’s best about it is people call BS when they see it.
Back to best teams in 2. Wide open. I can make a case for 6 teams. Seem them all.
this is NOT Archmere and everyone else. It is wide open.
As for last nights game specific. Out coached. DMA has studs all over the field. They were out coached, and out played. As for officials. Be prepared-it’s not going to be pretty in the playoffs.
Apologize for being so long, but itch was hit…
Nope, playing on another appealI thought the player that transferred to Sallies from DMA, waiver was denied, i know he played while it was under appeal, But I thought it was ruled on a couple weeks ago and the appeal was denied and he had to stop playing immediately. I could absolutely be wrong about that, please correct me if someone knows for sure.
Generally curious by playing on appeals will a decision be made before or after the state tournament or during. And if it is denied does that effect the games that he played in, do they get listed as forfeits like when that happens in college. And I agree kids should be able to go wherever they want and they should not be blockedNope, playing on another appeal
It doesn’t happen in DE like it does in other states. So when it does happen people notice.Transfers are part of the game these days. Not really worth bitching about it anymore. Happens almost everywhere. I don’t like it but it’s a thing these days.
If DMA gets another shot at Archmere I think DMA has a chance to win. Game was closer last night then the score looked. Lots of DMA mistakes. Archmere is good though. Might have been a wake up call for DMA.
I’m not sure, i don’t think they will be given forfeits while playing on appeals.. but who knows with diaa. Supposedly, their was tension between AD, kid and family. Obviously there is always 3 sides to every story and I only have one of them.Generally curious by playing on appeals will a decision be made before or after the state tournament or during. I'm curious I would like to hear about this.
I reached out to some friends at Ohara, because there was a lot of talk about DMA and Ohara on twitter last night. An Ohara alum said that they filed a complaint against DMA head coach this week with DIAA, for contacting two freshman football players who are on O’hara’s roster and asking them to come to DMA for a visit. I was told they have text message exchange between DMA head coach and at least one of the players. Not sure about the rules in DE, but it seems like that would not be allowedI think there has to be something in place so there is a level playing field. The private, charter, and vo tech schools have to recruit to get students to attend their schools. So, I guess athletes may get preferential treatment.
The DMA transfer as a senior. That is a bit peculiar. I would think a student would need to accumulate some military classes to graduate from DMA.
At a vo tech it would be impossible to transfer as a senior.
Not sure about the Sallies kid but he could have chosen his feeder school.
I know there has been talk of transfer rules on here before. Someone said another state does not let the athlete compete in postseason.
I think that would eliminate many transfers for athletic reasons.
From what I've heard the senior at DMA did have to go before DIAA and get approval for his transfer and I also heard that he did attend DMA his freshman year so I'm not sure if that did make a difference regarding his status.I think there has to be something in place so there is a level playing field. The State Board of Education overruled DIAA 2 weeks ago. The young man is eligible.I thought the player that transferred to Sallies from DMA, waiver was denied, i know he played while it was under appeal, But I thought it was ruled on a couple weeks ago and the appeal was denied and he had to stop playing immediately. Sorry wasn’t clear. I said 6 teams. I did not mean top 6. Agree with your comments. There are teams that are getting healthy. Others though May have some wins are losing players. From reading the DIAA manuel it does come down to the points you earn divided by the number of games played to receive your index and then it goes from highest to lowest. If anyone is tied with their index they have a set of 4 tie breakers in order. 1. Head to head. 2. Opponents win percentage. 3. Division points against I think. 4. A coin flipSorry wasn’t clear. Now the fun begins. Playoff time. May everyone stay healthy and the zebras stay out of the way!
Any chance all the rankings are incorrect and DIAA does not match or is it a science? Just wondering.
It's just math with all the data being publicly accessible. Anybody who wants to spend the time can figure it out.Sorry wasn’t clear. I said 6 teams. I did not mean top 6. Agree with your comments. I have no ideaI think I am missing something. Why would DMA want kids from PA? Can they attend DMA if they are out of state?
Ever wonder how many kids go to Sallies, Archmere, Caravel, and St Marks on “Academic” scholarships and happen to be excellent athletes. Betcha it is more than 10%. Guess we will never know since that information is “private”. Hypocritical. St Marks running back was at DMA, Sals starting LB, and Mtowns WR…lets be honest, DMA talks alot of smack AND improved alot so people hate on themArchmere is not giving our “academic” scholarships to athletes
I hear what your saying. However, Archmere with athletes on Academic scholarships is just not happening. I believe Archmere has 2/3 academic scholarships and they all go to the top scores on the entrance exam.Ever wonder how many kids go to Sallies, Archmere, Caravel, and St Marks on “Academic” scholarships and happen to be excellent athletes. Fair enough, I shouldnt have mentioned them as I actually never heard that about them. I know for a fact there are other schools that do this though and it may not be full scholarship in every case but they do what it takes to get the players they need. Just think its crazy how people talk about DMA, its a great school and thats why my son chose it and other kids want to go there based on reputation which shows in their interest and enrollment numbers, but they literally cannot offer anything besides culture to kids from other schools. Maybe some kids want to play with friends or maybe regret their initial choice…idk…but this idea that there is all this underhanded stuff going on is wild to me and I think it has to do more with haters than reality. To me, if there are schools that cost money attracting kids who cannot afford said school, and offering scholarship in any way that would be abusing the system. Being the “cool and unique” school attracts kids to want to go there naturally.I hear what your saying. However, Archmere with athletes on Academic scholarships is just not happening.
