With all the discussion on here about POY, how about this..... you are a college coach with 1 scholarship left. You need a good all-around guard. Who do you take - Rawls, Parker, Matthews, or Cale. ( and why?)

Personally I take Rawls. I believe to see him as more complete player. He struggled last night scoring so did his best to set up others with the ball in good positions, just didn't have the talent around him. Rawls also Ive seen on several occasions take the ball in pressure situations and end games. Great scorer, passer and he made some great plays on defense. Kid has a lot of heart too.
Havent been a big fan of Cale, Havent have the pleasure to see Parker and Matthews is solid but unless he improves his off the dribble/dribbling he can be in trouble.

Personally, Rawls. Get him in school with his abilities and a team tht brings to the table what his lacked it could create something special. I would choose him.

Also when is the All State/Player of the year announced?

I ears someone shouting in the crowd about that last night that Smyrna really didn't have good ball handling and if St. George's would have pressed harder they may have gotten more turnovers...

Yeah, We always Press Matthews and force him to put the ball on the floor. Truly struggles. Is he getting better of the dribble of course, but it isn't his game

Depends on what level. Obviously Cale is a high d1 lock. I think the other 3 will get d1 looks depending on the program's style worst case very successful at a d2 school.

After last night not convinced Rawls would finish at the rim (which has been his bread and butter) vs. big athletic inside players (6'7, 6'10, etc..) He will have to continue to develop his jumper, which has definitely improved and be a playmaker. Not a great leaper to finish over D1 size. #24 on Smyrna would be a nightly deal depending on the level. However he has intangibles you can't teach - leadership, tenacity, high iq,

Cale has size, length and is definitely explosive. He gets to the rim vs most competition. He definitely needs to develop consistent jumper and foul shot to excel in the Big East.

Matthews high iq, court vision, probably the best shooter (or Parker) of the bunch. A shooter's ability to stretch defenses at the next level is a translatable skill. They list him at 6'3" as a 2 guard that's ok size but good size if he develops as a pg. Going to have to hit the weight room.

Parker I would guess 6'2" or 6'3" as well. Same as Matthews, if he can run the point he will have more options. Teams won't be able to help off with his perimeter game. Athletic. No doubt he can score the rock. Decision making is shaky at times (bad shots) but you can coach that and would like to see him be more of a playmaker (not really his role at CA). Also needs to hit the weight room.
