Friday Night Scores

Was def a must win for Caravel...I think they control their own destiny.
Caravelwln
why is that? You make a ton of this team cant beat that team statements but offer no analysis as to why? Are you just a homer for certain teams from a certain area? just curious
No.. Watched both if them..Cape too strong and way more talented... Slowly wear them down on front line... Plus its at Cape.. They will finish 8-2.. Last 3 games home.. Only lost will be Smryna... Will beat CR.Tech.Caravel... Easily.. But will loose in first round.. QB is real weak....

That kid transferred to CA before last season, and he is a beast. No doubt they wish they still had him.

Not a bad player and I was not insinuating that, but as far as him being a beast.....I don't know bout all that.

Caravel is dangerous from the standpoint that if you aren't an athletic team it is VERY hard to move the ball on them. I've seen them two weeks in a row against Archmere and St. Mark's (who to be fair, was without Austin Colmery - kid's foot was in a boot, that could be a crushing injury for the Spartans) and they're too thick up the middle and too fast on the outside. Cape might have the athletes to match up, but right now, everyone in D2 should be wary of Caravel. They're peaking at the right time.

Agreed- I had them ranked #1 pre-season, and barker goes down but the more snaps the Fr gets, the more comfy he will become. If they don't lose the QB- I am not sure they have a loss yet.

Caravel was without Noah Taylor last night as well.. He was on the sideline in crutches with Barker.. Sprained ACL was the word

I like his poise, he doesn't seem to get rattled easily and when the o-line gave him time, he showed potential to make plays (the two long passes to Granger that set up the Larkins TD) It sucks that Barker got hurt, but if there's a bright side, it's that Nelson's getting trial by fire experience as a freshman and his confidence and abilities can only grow from here, especially if CA can sneak in the backdoor to the playoffs.

Still not sure how a face mask was missed in St Marks vs Caravel game last night. When the ball carrier's head jerks and he ends up looking out the ear hole, kind of looks like a face mask. Wasn't a terrible crew, just a few odd calls and non calls (~3).

Not according to the one clown in the Caravel stands who was bitching abut the refs the whole night.. as if the refs can even hear him from the top row lol how embarrassing.. As a former ref and umpire you just cant see everything it happens..not saying there arent bad refs because there are but its of more of a supply and demand type thing in HS football. With the current climate of parents in HS sports what self respecting person would want the job? who wants to get verbally abused and accosted in the parking lot for peanuts? were lucky there are folks willing to do it at this point.. it wont be long before there wont be enough refs to do the slate of games each weekend... They arent pro's they are just folks looking to make a few extra bucks but when the few bucks arent worth the drama then they will go away

Understood, I didn't say it was like a blatantly biased crew like sometimes seen OOS.

The play I spoke of was an obviously face mask, not an incident 15yds from the ball.

And what's with very slow whistles. If you've got eight players in a scrum letting that go for another 3-4 seconds is asking for a serious injury.

I was just saying the lack of respect for authority figures in this county is alarming.. Refs used to be in that group ..whether they are competent or not shouldn't matter..they chose to do it and others who complain chose not to..If you can do a better job then sign up and do it. Otherwise shut your mouth. Either you teach your kids to respect authority whether their decisions or right or wrong or you do not. We are seeing the effect of lack of respect for authority figures today

The face mask call I can see being missed. It was on the sideline away from the field and very quick. The thing that really struck me as shady happened on the CA interception play.

When the CA D lineman broke through the line and got wrecked from behind, I kept my eye on the ref and never saw the int. The ref put his hand on the flag but didn't pull it until the int happened. Must have been a full two count that he held that flag before he pulled and threw it.

I can't think of a good reason why he would pause like that. Perhaps one of you refs/former refs can explain.
