Friday Scores for 10/30/15

Timaun Williams 16-yd run. Run fail. Sussex Tech 36 Dover 13. 35 seconds left in the third quarter

Triston Harris 16-yd pass to John Rodel Castro. Pass for 2. Sussex Tech 36 Dover 21. 8:29 left

Martin goes for FG down 20-14 but a Delmar player comes in way late to light someone up. That'll be a personal foul. Ball to the 11 with 1:35

Martin takes the shotgun toss from 4 yards out into the end zone. 37 seconds left. PAT puts IR up

PAT is good. IR leads Delmar 21-20 with 37 seconds left in the game.

Crazy... chances are St Marks, Caravel nor HVT will make D2 playoffs... not because they are not top 8 D2 teams but their schedules did them in

DII needs to explore a different points system. Some kind of scheduling index. Can't really blame DMA for scheduling soft this year. They were 6-4 and left out in the cold the last 2 years . I don't want others like St marks to follow suit.

CA's undefeated 2012 campaign was a real soft schedule... almost cost them vs IR in the semi's..they got really lucky.. bottom line its a damned if you do damned if you don't.. D2 is really weak.. its way tp easy to schedule weak and get in.. of course the flip side is you meet a good team then get get smoked. in the play offs because you played no one. The other side of the coin is schedule tough to prepare your team but miss out on points to a team playing cream puffs.. Bottom line is D2 really only has 2 or 3 teams that have a shot to win it anyways and those teams will get in regardless

yeah the best 8 teams don't get in but the the ones who really have a shot to win it do

to say dma scheduled light this year probably isn't true...they can't help that st marks st e archmere and tower hill are all on down years .in the past they where all playoff teams.

DMA didn't schedule tough they passed on D1 teams and others like Caravel .. Scheduling Red Lion over them is questionable..Other than St M (which was a two year deal from last year) and maybe Archmere they have a bottom feeder schedule

Charter
Milford
Tower Hill
St E's
St M
Poly
Red Lion
Laurel
Archmere
Conrad

They definitely softened up the schedule to ensure 6-4 wasn't happening again. I don't blame them. It was smart. Why chance being left out again.

The game is the game. You can't count on D2 being so blah every year as it is this season. DMA had a better team last year that went 6-4 and missed out. They had Sallies and a much stronger St. Mark's on the schedule and those are the games (along with the Archmere loss) that cost them a tourney appearance. Get a cheap 12 points from Charter (who absolutely should be D2/Flight B) and Poly and beat the D2s you're supposed to beat and voila.

yeah that's really easy to say but last year DMA pounded Tower Hill by 3 TD only to see the Hillers steal their playoff spot. While tower hill was beating Cinderella and her step sisters DMA was challenging themselves with Sallies and St Marks costing them a spot in the postseason. It's a flawed system .

OK be the AD for DMA, and make their schedule. Remember they are a non-conference, so who else do you look for to fill dates. I believe this is the 5th year in a row they have played St. Mark's, so this might be year one of a two year deal. This will be the 10th year in a row they play St. Elizabeth. Archmere and Conrad are their rivals in the Diamond State Conference, so I can see why they appear.

Looking back, they seem to be able to schedule a Henlopen South team or two every year since 2011.

With Flight A having 8 conference games, I'm not sure how many of them were looking to DMA for a non conference game.

After the previous regime put them through the two year hell of Division 1 St. Mark's and Salesianum (being outscored 146-6 by the way), I'll give them a pass for the softer D-1 slate.

In essence the only schedule changes from last year to this...

Dickinson, replaced with Charter
Salesianum replaced with Polytech
Tatnall replaced with Red Lion

Can almost guarantee whoever the top 2 in the Hen South are will be tourney bound after today's Conrad-Tower Hill game because the loser is O-U-T.
