WILMINGTON, DE – Freshman Kendra Russell (New Castle, DE) hurled back-to-back complete games to help the Goldey-Beacom softball team post wins of 6-2 and 7-1 against Wilmington College in a key Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at the GBC Softball Complex in Wilmington.

Senior Tiffany Frick (Pennsauken, NJ), junior Brandy Ash (Dagsboro, DE), sophomore Sarah Gehman (King of Prussia, PA), and freshman Megan Harper (Atco, NJ) each drove in two runs for the Lightning, who improved to 19-15 with the wins and 9-7 in conference play. The Wildcats, meanwhile, dropped to 19-19 (9-7 CACC) with the losses.

Russell allowed 11 hits and three runs (two earned) in 14 innings of work, striking out seven while walking just one.

The Lightning return to action Wednesday afternoon when they host Philadelphia University at 3 p.m.
