top team, top player predictions?
My prediction:

Henlopen North....
Dover or Tech for the north- Dover returns everyone, Tech Returns 2 starters and adds 3 Key transfers. Smyrna and CR will also compete, they each return an all-state player from last year, depth may hurt though...*****PS: word is Smyrna has recently had another giant transfer in lol****

Henlopen South...
Wide open this year...I give the edge to Milford but Woodbridge and Lake competing as well. Delmar could shock some people???

Tech should win the North after stealing several 10th graders from various schools. Biggest steal being the Cape point guard. His defensive intensity will fit well with the Ayers trapping pressure defense.
1. Tech
2. Dover
3.CR
4. Cape
5. Smyrna (transfers could move them up)

Maybe someone can answer a few questions. How can so many 10th grade athletes get accepted to a Tech school that is supposed to be lottery based? Can you get a trade in 2 years? Was Tech told to,decrease it’s enrollment numbers by the state of Delaware?

Hen South will belong to Lake. They are solid and have the best guard in the South in Vasquez.
Not sure what style new Milford coach will incorporate but he has some work to do.
WB will be right there with them and is 2 years away from winning the South.

1. Lake
2. WB
3. Milford
4. Laurel

Are you listing the top 5 in the order you think they will finish in the Henlopen north ?

In order I would say
CR
Dover
Tech
Not sure what Smyrna has left ie is Garrett still the and not as high on Cape. All 5 will be competitive but imo upstate is a lot stronger.

Once again it’s Sanford’s to lose this year, clearly the best team in the state but then again talent and coach wise they have been the best on paper for a number of years.

84rider I don’t think CR will have the guard play to beat Tech but they could beat Dover. Tech and Dover like to get up and down the floor. They also like to trap and press and I think that will give CR fits.

So is everyone still convinced that recruiting happens only at the nonpublic schools?

I would give Dover the nod over CR because of the growth of Allen....He's turned into a D1 prospect. Sussex Tech will be a handful in the north as well....

He’s the same player he was last year, a shooter. Good kid and no disrespect but now he just shoots even more which is everytime.

Allen shoots it often and so does Davis. That is how they play and it doesn’t seem to bother the coach. They will be a tough combo. They put pressure on the defense.

Lake returns Kadeem Kimbrough Roach. He is just a sophomore and very good player. Has had a good summer and will put up good numbers.
He will be All conference. Question for Lake will be Vasquez and his maturity. He can go.

Lake loses a lot with Hoskins graduating, he was drawing a lot of attention and double teams. Vasquez was impressive at times, good ball handler tends to dribble too much and gets into trouble. hopefully as you mentioned he matures.
Milford should have a chance in the South, they had a down year last year with coaching changes but they had alot of 11th graders getting experience and now being seniors watch out for them to make some noise.
I think Woodbridge lost too much to win the conference but they will give people some games.

Dover I also believe is the front runner for the conference. Davis is Davis, Allen has improved and gained ALOT of confidence with this summer. He was 1 jump shot away from getting Dover past Sallies in last years tournament. They still need a big to develop to get the space for Allen and Davis to work. I think they might have one.
Tech will give them a run for their money, Kane and company are scrappy and very engaged guards on the defensive end. It will be a good match up between the two.
Everybody from Cape is gone, Central is central, CR should be solid with Clark they will be missing the experienced guard play, and outside of Garrnett Smyrna has close to nothing.

That's False! No disrespect but Elijah by no means is the player he was last year nor does he shoot every time..... He's gotten more aggressive offensively and will be a problem!! He has gotten bigger and stronger in the off season. He is not just a catch and shoot kid, he has been attacking the basket all summer and will be a nightmare for guards to defend.
