I see they are 11-2 and are in the top 10 but nobody is talking about them and they have one of the best players in the state. They are my final 4 sleeper.

They have Mt Pleasant at home Tuesday. I'm thinking Sobo will have them ready. Should be a good one.

Newark at Mount on Thursday.
Gonna be very interesting if both Newark and mount win there games tuesday I'd say winner of Thursday's matchup would be favorite to win it all .. will have either new number 1 or show how far apart 1&2 are

That will be sad if Newark isn't selling tickets BUT mt pleasant fans and students already bought up all the tickets online. Why is mt p selling tickets but not newark. Can people pay at the door? Big game in that lttle gym. No way it should be there for a game of this magnitude

Where else would you like it to be? Regular season game and mount played at Newark last year. Shouldn't matter the size of the gym lol

Anyone can go online and buy tickets.

Tickets for the Boys Basketball game against Mt. Pleasant on 2/2/17 can be purchashed on Mt. Pleasant's website. You can go to website4sports and look up Mt. pleasant school and follow the directions to purchase tickets. Tickets will not be sold at Newark HS. Contact Mount Pleasant to see if tickets will be sold at the door.

Thanks

Wouldn't say easily.... Guard play well forever rule high school level basketball.... Newark guards as a whole are actually better than Mounts, game should be a good game....

They still have Mt. Pleasant, St. George's, Sanford, Howard & William Penn left on their schedule so we will get to see how good they are within the next couple of weeks.

I saw Hodgson against AI a couple of weeks ago and I came away thinking they'll surprise somebody in the tournament. Only thing that gives me pause about them is a lack of a post presence. Grinnage and LJ are both 6'4, 6'5, but they're clearly perimeter guys. It might be enough to get them to the Bob, should be enough, but after that, it's anybody's guess.

I see people mention post presence, NOBODY in Delaware has a post presence, there's probably two guys in the entire state that get the majority of their points in the paint that average over 10ppg (Cramer of Mount, Bowman of Howard)

I believe you forgot the 7'2 kid from Smyrna who does damage in the paint. I agree though same with everyone saying you need a bench to win it all. In Delaware if you have 2-3 people to carry you you'll be successful.

Soccer thanks for the info. So you are coach McCants?lol or is that from their website because it wasn't there last week.

Smyrna's big guy doesn't avg over 10ppg
Although he is a game changer defensively

I would think that he has to be right around10 ppg just from seeing some of the box scores...but yeah is effect on the game goes beyond scoring.

Definite game changer defensively, but when I saw them, other than put backs off of offensive rebounds and loose balls near the basket, he had no offensive game at all.

Yes he does the majority of his damage on the defensive end. From what I have been told he has only been playing basketball 3-4 years so his offensive skillset is very limited right now, although he has gotten better as the year has went on. He probably only takes 6-8 shots per game. With the team that Smyrna has he doesn't really need to score much for that team to be successful. What I like about him is that he knows his role though which is controlling the paint by blocking & altering shots, getting rebounds & getting the ball out to the guards. I have yet to see him do anything outside of that and he does so without ever complaining about getting touches.
