Thanks for work on this.
Hodgson has 32

bonus pts - Friends & St E should get one - ANC won their 7th game this week. Ditto for Tower Hill (Harford Tech) and Cape Henlopen (Suitland)

Thanks Art. I'll look into that and fix it accordingly!

HVT gonna pas MT after next week,, The rest wont though

Middletown losing next week to IMG isn't gonna make me move them down. Every team in Delaware would get destroyed by them. Middletown stays 1 until someone in state has an answer for them.

St. Elizabeth. No ‘s. That is for St. Mark’s and St. George’s only.

I know it's long shot, but I'm rooting for McKean to make the tournament. It'd be their first appearance since '82 when George Kosanovich was coaching them. They should beat Mount, Conrad and Christiana to get to 7-3, but Woodbridge is coming on strong, so McKean would need St. Mark's and DMA to finish 6-4, which is possible.

It would be nice to see 3 Henlopen Conference Teams but so much can happen between CR and Dover in the next couple of weeks.
Dover and CR Still to face off last week of the Season
Dover has Smyrna this upcoming week
Central and CR to still play

Other than Smyrna, what other HLN team has done anything in the playoffs recently ?

Would be nice to see but McKean last 3 games will be a battle. They are pretty evenly matched with amount and Christiana. So those last 2 will be a fight

Oh, went over my head. Yeah, Hodgson will jump them after this week. They should stay above them too until Hodgson gets their 9th win, and IMG gets their 7th. After that, the Cavs should be back atop the point standings. And then at that point, those two will battle it out in week 10 for the 1st seed, but it's my understanding, that no matter the outcome of that Hodgson/Middletown game, they both are getting a bye. Central could play spoiler for the loser if they get some bonus points that I've forgotten.

CR Dover is a one of those rivalries that requires you throw out their current records. No matter which team is better on paper, either team can win imo.....in regards to SC, I believe they are a different team than the one that lost to HVT on the road first game off the season. SC is playing the best football in the HLN.

I will agree with your statement 84. SC is a different team than what they were back in week 1. They looked god awful against Hodgson.

I will use last year as an example, look at Hodgson. Went down to Central, laid a goose egg. And almost went into Middletown and came away with a win. And met Smyrna in the semis and was competitive with them in the first half. Game got away from them early in the 3rd.

Central for all we know could go on a run. However, despite their shutout streak, and keeping Smyrna under 20 points, I don't think they are the best defense in the state. That title goes to Hodgson or Middletown.

Middletown let smyrna score 22? I think it was? And one of them was poor coverage by a DB. (Anyways, shoulda coulda woulda) the Cavs held Sallies scoreless (in my mind! The backups fumble on the 20-30 yard line and sallies scores on bench players) and limited them to 1-2 first downs the entire first half.

I was gonna list why Hodgson deserved it but after looking at their games, they let Howard score 26. Newark 17.

Middletown had played two teams in the top 5, with two shutouts and a 5.6 points allowed.

Central has played three top 10 teams and allowing 6.8 points per game.

Middletowns average will only go up because of this week. So as I'm writing this there could be a case made for both teams. How the Cavs defense handles Hodgson will go a long way as to who's is better.

I do think Central has the best D in the state, Smyrna's last TD was when the game was well out of hand, you can watch it on 302 sports.

I was watching it during Middletown/Sallies. I saw what you saw. However, it may be my homerism, but Central isn't the best D. However they have a strong case to say they are. It's just my opinion. I would love to see them come up to Middletown in the playoffs.

Sorry gentlemen but how is it that last week many of you had Watkins as either one or two in the state and now that Middletown shuts him down he's average. The same for Whaley. He had a few yards in the first half and nothing to speak in in the second half. Just maybe Middletown shuts people down. That game should have been 60-20. I can tell you right now that no other team in the state out plays Smyrna and Salesianum like Middletown has. They have size and athletes at every position. They are aggressive and play down hill football on every snap.

I am starting to think its not slam dunk for Middletown... HVT and Central playing real well... Who has MT beat? Sallies?
Who has central beat? According to the henelepon haters it is against an overrated Dover team and sub .500 Smyrna team. They blanked out who...inferior opponents? Held a .500 team to under 20 points. So we should just give the chip to HVT you’re saying?

did I say that? no ,, personally I am on the Central train and their D.. Defense still wins championships Spread schmed wing it baby

I don't think IMG is a D1 school - they only have about 800 students grade PK-12.
Coed schools population have to be around 1,100. For all male schools it is around 560. So I’m thinking it is a D2 school stat. Middletown will get bonus points because IMG will more than likely get 9 wins. So they will be hurt with that L and only get 2 points. Like I mentioned earlier DIAA might try to slide them even more bonus points because of who they played.

I believe that we will have atleast one 6-4 team in the D1 playoff field maybe 2.
Sallie's 6-4 or 7-3
St George's 6-4
Appo 6-4
Smyrna 5-4
Sussex tech 5-5
CR 5-5
The top 4 are locks already baring any major upsets.

Tech and Cr will not have any chances if they go 5-5.
Smyrna not mathematically out. However they need some major help. If they make it to the playoffs, watch out.
Anyone else on the list if you make it, thanks for showing up to the dance but here is your first round exit ticket.
If Dover doesn’t do the typical Dover they will be ranked over central. We will wait and see but if history has it they will implode soon.
Middletown will destroy HVT at the end of the season.
Central vs Middletown.
Dover vs HVT.

I agree to what you said to a certain extent.

Middletown, Hodgson, Central, an Dover are locks for D1. However, I don't see. Blowout game against Hodgson. I think Middletown wins something like 35-26.

Sallies will lose to Westminster but I think handles Smyrna. There want much good I saw from Sallies both times I saw them, but what I did see was good run defense. They kept Father Judge and Middletown from getting a running game going which is key against Smyrna. If you make Smyrna throw the ball to beat you they will struggle. Making Sallies 7-3 and good enough for the 5th seed.

After that, I think St. George's gets that last spot unless they cough one up against William Penn. the CR loss to Tech last weekend hurt them significantly.

So then if I look at it even farther Central and Dover would host 1st round games, Central would handle St. George's easily setting them up with a game against Hodgson, and Dover would handle Sallies setting them up with a trip to Middletown. At that point, all the cards are on the table and that would be the best semis Division 1 would offer. 4 teams with quality defenses, and offenses that can score on any given play.

Very good break down. I think you may be on to something. You think Dover is going to lose to CR to be the 4th seed? If not they will be the 3rd seed over central because of bonus points of D2 teams.

Rockem....I didn't look into that much. You're probably right with bonus points. If that's the case...

Dover would host St. George's which they would handle The Hawks. And Central would meet with Sallies which I think might be closer than some would expect. But the Knights pull it out.

Setting up a Middletown vs. Central semi and Hodgson vs. Dover semi. Either way, two really great games to determine the finalists
