More news on the IMG transfer. Apparently he is a kicker that was on the national team down in FL. From what I hear this was a position of need for Salesianum. I also hear he’s an absolute stud with major college interest. Was seen making 50+ yard field goals in game down at IMG. Also was top in the country in touchbacks. Could be a sneaky addition to Sallies. Confused as to how they got him

As you can't return a kicked ball out of the end zone in HS, the kid will be worth his weight in gold. The Sals have given up big kickoff returns for TD's like 2-3 times in each of the last 5 seasons. This has been painful.

I will let the long time Sals faithful list those backbreakers since the 2015 title game. Suffice it to say the Sals special teams have not been special.

(Man, I am glad my son in law doesn't read this board.)

I don't see where this is a position of "need". If one thing BDN does really well it's producing very good kickers within the system.

Kickers are unique. Otherwise, in DE HS FB a talented kid will be needed and he will fill a position. If this makes no sense, ignore it.

This kid is apparently the real deal anyway, after looking on social media I saw that his kid was a team captain for IMG and was ranked a 5star online. I’m surprised this isn’t getting more attention. I remember watching this kid against Middletown and was putting balls through the uprights on kickoffs and I believe made a long field goal in the game as well. With Watkins as Sals running back this could be the best scoring duo in the state.

I think the real question is whether he’s in his 20s like sallies other good players throughout the years.

Kick offs are one thing but you need the ball to be centered accurately and for the holder to do his job properly. Otherwise, a placekicker ain't worth a helluva lot.

Kid was with Cape two years ago before he transferred to IMG. Strong leg but a bit inconsistent with his accuracy on FGs. Will do the trick on Kick-offs. probably was beat out at IMG and that is why he transferred.

Good for sallies! They never get any good transfers or have any advantages like no boundaries . What a joke

I’m far from a Sallies fan, but you guys talk about Sallies that they are some powerhouse team with players that no one can stop.

If they were so powerful getting all “transfers” or “recruits” wouldn’t you think they’d be winning championships every year? ....

Let’s look back.....their last title was in 2013, and before that....2009, and before that 2006.

That’s not exactly Alabama. You got schools like Middletown, William Penn, Newark, Smyrna, St. Marks and Sussex Central now thats been at the top. Some of them consecutive years.

This year, yes, Sallies has a great team that’s capable of winning a championship. They are my preseason pick. They were my preseason pick back in 2015 too, but Smyrna came out of no where. This year could be the same. Right now you got people talking about Sallies and Hodgson and some talking about Sallies and Dover. For all we know, Central, Middletown, Tech, Or whoever could shock us all this year.

I think more so this year is more level than its ever been. As far as D1 against D1 and D2 against D2

According to Hudl the kid was 8/11 as the starting kicker for IMG last year and started in IMGs first scrimmage this summer with three field goals made from 42,47,52 which are all posted on his hudl. Seems pretty consistent. Their kicker that replaced Hunter went 2/5 on just extra points in IMG’s first game. I highly doubt he was beat out. But conditions in Delaware I can see being a factor for him as he will be going from hot to cold. This will probably be difficult for him to adjust.

A student athlete was already on a nationally ranked varsity roster this school year. Isn't there a 90 day wait period? He didn't have residency in Florida. Yes, he transferred schools but the student already used his one free transfer according to DIAA rules. Sounds like someone is on a roster illegally.

You don't know the rules Rock. First off transfer rules only pertain transfers between DIAA schools it is all they have jurisdiction over. Many kids have transferred out of state and transferred back with out changing residency.. The ECA kids for one.

Also the not being able to play for two teams in one season. DIAA doesn't consider playing for a team until you have played in a game. A kid can practice all preseason and even play in scrimmages for a team and transfer and be eligible providing they never played in a official game

2.4.4.1.4.1 Students shall not participate in a contest at the varsity level for two different schools in the same sport during the same school year unless one of the other exceptions in subsection 2.4.4 of this regulation applies.

Central had a player last year who played in a game for Tech then transferred to Central and played. He must have gotten a waiver for one of the exceptions

Got information that had strong leg on kick-offs but was somewhat inconsistent on FG's from his Kohl's Kicking Ranking/Rating. He is a 4 1/2 star kicker which is excellent, so he is obviously very talented.

Apparently, Kohls does charting at their camps to evaluate and rank kickers, punters and long snappers on a national basis (similar to Rivals/Under Armor camps for positional players). Wasn't aware of his recent scrimmage performances at IMG. Glad he is back in Delaware as it is good when in-state talent stays at home (or in this case returns home). i wish the guys who transferred from Delmar would have stayed this year.

Looks like he was back up KO and 3rd string PAT/FG

check that after more investigation looks like he had 37 touchbacks so he was the KO specialist. I guess when it goes into the end zone the IMG stat guy doesn't track it. Only the yards if it doesnt?

According to the vid on his twitter he had makes of 42,47 and 52 yards in IMG's spring game this year (scrimmage game)

You must be looking at max preps because I’m not sure how you can have 11 FG and 40+ KO as a third stringer?

I know for a fact I watched three of IMG’s games last year and the kid started both field goals and kickoffs. Including in Mater Dei, Hoover, and Middletown which were all televised or streamed. He wasn’t a backup that’s for sure.

I watched the games as well, including the YouTube videos and he would start the game on all three fazes of XP, FG, and KO but if IMG would run up the score which happened often they would put in their backup which was number 38, not sure of his name though. I remember this because IMG’s punter at the time Aidan Swanson who’s now at Clemson would always be holding Hunters field goals which would bring up conversation about them (Hunter and Aidan) possibly being the best special teams duo in the country.
