Jeff Mullen's 2016 Delaware High School Football Predictions Week 2

Smyrna has no other choice than to play all of their conference teams. It's certainly not purposeful to have a "soft" schedule. In fact, last year, Judy reached out to DiNardo to schedule Sals because he wants to challenge his team. They will most definitely continue to play as this second year of the schedule ends. I can bet Mtown will be on that new schedule. Smyrna does not shy away from good competition.

@youjustme- how is the Hutchinson kid that got hurt scrimmaging the Town? I heard something bad happened.

Those two are killer HS linebackers....I watched one of their Hudl vids and they could probably be legit recruits at safety

Yeah, he will be missed. I'm sure many teams can use the "If this hadn't happened" clause but the Smyrna D will surely miss him. Win loss records are nice but pale in comparison to things really important.

Are they getting sniffs for football in college?

Yes. Both over 200 pounds and are two of fastest kids on the team. Knowing Smyrna's team, let that incubate for a bit. :)

That's what I'm saying, if they played safety or are recruited for safety/corner I bet they would be badass. Maybe linebacker too, IDK, but they're like 200 and can fly and can obviously tackle

That's very interesting you say that.....because when the harvest bowl started back up a few years ago, it was said team who "won't shy away from good competition" who ended it.....when I look back at those scores, it was quite embarrassing, I'd end it again too. BUT now that they are good again, NOW they want to play good competition??...okay, I believe you.

That was a different regime at a different time. You can't expect this staff to be responsible for the sins of the past... or you can and so be it.

Can't compare it. I was there for all those games and even though I was more than delighted to watch the manster Chris Godwin score 4 tds as a freshman against them, it just wasn't ever going to be competitive at that time. I think smyrna was just moved to D1 and the Town was/is the baddest team in the land

whatever ,,, declararions or prediction its the same thing.. sometimes you are right sometimes your wrong,,, but Harford Tech is terrible so I guess Tatnall is worse such is life in the silk panty league. To be honest DE teams have have not fared well vs MD teams this year so far
As I recall you made these two quotes
"Most likely they will,, but winning the D2 tournament I think not.. They have a good chance of winning the silk panty league though"
"FNL at Tanall.. love it.. They are def on the radar in D2 this year" interesting 2 quotes from @ravensrooster2 to now saying they suck.

Completly love what Coach Judy brings to the table and how he has turned that program arround.. I truly hope it continues... anywhere anytime anyplace attitude is the right stuff
