"Rented"? Many come to the pastures of Duck Creek Parkway, but few are chosen. Smyrna seeks no man. After a vigorous test of resolve and metal, those worthy are forged into eagles of iron! Once the scrap heaps of pretenders and impostors are cleared away, there stand the ready and able-bodied warriors atop the summit. Eager and anxious to toil shoulder to shoulder with their brethren in battle. Anyone leaving the nurturing nest that is Smyrna, leaves better for having been there...indeed knowing that what they brought to that honored place pales compared to what they will take away on their continued journey. No, my good sir, no one was "rented". That an eagle doth soar in a far away land (ok, West Virginia), brings pride to all that stood with him in that storied season of yore (2016-17). To borrow a noted phrase, The Few, The Proud, The E....(As a Marine, I can't). But let me just finish by saying...Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle! (and scene....)

I heard he lived in Maryland and played for Smyrna.
That's silly. Be responsible in spreading what you "hear". If you can't confirm it, don't report it. Besides, everyone knows he was living in PA during the beginning of the season, but moved to West Virginia a year in advance, did his schoolwork on the internet, and came in on Thursdays for Friday night games.

Should have seen what he did vs seven (7) HS ranked in top-50 in the nation behind ECA OL averaging 6’2/325#.

2014: #3 St Edward, #15 St Peter’s Prep, #22 DeSoto, #24 Paramus Catholic.
2015: #9 IMG, #19 Gilman, #46 St Joes Regional.

dovetail is 100% correct in his rented statement! Although no money was probably exchanged, he played for more High schools than anyone on DE history.

Technically he only played for only 1 DE school.. just saying.. He played for 2 different High Schools and 1 online home school team.. but there have been a few other DE kids that have done the same.

I played for 5 BIBBY5school

9th Soquel,CA/ Edgewood,MD
10th Manhattan, KS
11th Santa Cruz,CA
12th Joppatowne, MD

what does all that mean? NOTHING!

your wrong.. LB4 played on ECA, MD 2 years, Smyrna DE 1 year and Neumann Goretti,PA 1 year.. Thats only 3 *schools

Your probably thinking of the Noah Taylor kid he played for 4 (technically 5 if you count the couple games he played for ECA the year they folded then xfered to WPenn)

Speaking of rented players, how bout the two 7 foot Africans who magically swan up Duck Creek in time for basketball season. BTW, what ever became of them?

How did a thread to celebrate the accomplishments of a former DE football player turn into a bash Smyrna sports thread? Why don't y'all leave Smyrna Prep alone?! Actually it's formally called "Smyrna Lady of Lourdes at Duck Creek Regional College & Agricultural Preparatory High School" but we'll go with "Smyrna Prep", you know because of the many kids that transfer there. You know, like how kids transfer in and out of "Prep" schools around the nation. Soooo, like trying to imply that Smyrna might as well be thought of as a prep school because of the transfers they get in so many sports. Come on, you know like trying to put down Smyrna by suggesting that their success in football, basketball, wrestling... wait, probably softball too (but I'm not sure), is due to kids from other schools coming there to donate their athletic talents to the destiny that is Smyrna success. Soon the tennis team will probably be getting kids from Ukraine and Serbia. Who knows where the soccer transfers will come from...South America? I don't understand how DIAA can be so hard on every other school in the state, but let kids waltz in and out of Smyrna (was going to go with 'run through Smyrna athletics like water through a sieve', but I like the word "waltz").

Anyway, it's unfair for you people to be so mean. Don't you care about anyone's feelings? *sniffle, sniffle*, I guess it's easy to be callous behind the anonymity of a keyboard. But what if it were your recently remodeled, deluxe high school, with two beautiful turf fields, that had recent success in athletics (although everyone seems to forget the many years of lean times...[not you Wrestling... sorry for you to get caught up in this mess]), a three-peat in football and the all-time leader in rushing yardage in Delaware history? Would you appreciate people..ooh almost forgot, *sniffle, sniffle, sniffle*...putting down your humble and modest little educational facility? Think about that before you "lash out" at others! OT...it's funny how the term "lash out" is so popular these days! BTT (back to topic), I hope we can move forward together, embracing the whole of Delaware football (and other sports, [hell, even the non-athletes {scholars?}]) collectively seeking to promote, nurture, and develop the most precious of our resources... students, athletes, and student-athletes (distinctions deliberate). And no, I did not extend the length of this discourse as a 'passive-aggressive' "take that". :) (emoji added to imply, or suggest, humor or lightheartedness in the previous comments)

And yet, they are the subject of so much angst (a feeling of deep anxiety or dread; a feeling of persistent worry about something trivial). Btw oh silly dovetail (tee hee), it's hard for guano to be found in "loads', you know, coming from birds and bats and all. And if you do find a load of guano, it certainly wouldn't be steaming! Haha...oh, you know with cooling and heat dissipation, and other thermodynamic considerations...just saying.
Oh, yeah...the entire thing was meant to be a "load", just like the knocking of Smyrna and Leddie. No need to duck now. It already went over your head.
