Middletown vs William Penn (Friday Night at 7:30pm)

Middletown had a great run, now Their 2 studs are off playing college ball. Time to regroup.
Wm. Penn is impressive, They are looking good.
Salesianum is not looking anything close to the team that won the State Championship last year. They need to start playing as a team and support each other.
Brandywine has some serious talent, still rebuilding though....Stephan Johnson-RB/LB, Cody Hostery-OL/DL, Ryan Ball- LB, just to name a few.
Well got a little off track...Good luck to all the teams as the race begins for the playoffs.

Dove-when I say Poly was way overrated I am speaking in general terms regarding just their team. Salesianum did some very good things versus them Sat. night. IMHO-the Sals are not 21 points worse than Poly but they really hurt themselves with several aspects: discipline/mental errors/flags/and some real bad situational play calling on both sides of the ball. When any combo or all of the above happen you usually come out on the losing end.
Poly Prep QB single handedly won the game and that happens in many games/sports...... but it should not have occurred with the talent level on the other side of the field. Sure-this may not be the 2013 team, but its much better than the squad that showed up the other night.
I thought before the game that Poly Prep was a bit overrated but after the game I didn't feel that way. I think Sallies might be the team that is slightly overrated.
William Penn looks really good right now and they are playing with a ton of confidence. Middletown is playing good but I don't think they are on the same level as Penn.

Middletown is still a great program...but I think Penn is the stronger team this year.

I agree with ES/FoF.
However, this game I feel the very young Cavaliers bring on the upset in the "Jungle". M-Town has not had a good upset victory since 2011. There will be a show of strength in numbers this Friday and if both teams play close to their average, it should be a great game.

I am with Sparty on this one. Only possible letdown that I see as a reason for WP not to win by14 + is if they are looking ahead to Concord and 1st night game @ WP.Originally posted by spartakos:

As far as WP goes-they are taking care of business, buts lets face the facts-they have only played 2 quality teams so far and only have 2 more -Cavs this week and then Concord. The jury is very much still out on this team. I can see them going 10-0 and a quick exit.

I think Newark is a pretty good team.Are you saying a quick exit from the tournament?

I am talking about WP-and no, I do not envision WP as a quick exit from tourney....just sayin' I would not be shocked if they were bounced out even if they run the table going 10-0 etc. I need to see a little more of them against some adversity. So far So good! And they are clearly the team to beat.

The Sallies Game faced alot of adveristy with turnovers and sloppy play. I agree all teams can and need to face these challenges. But if they faces the tough teams and they beat them. Why would you think a early exit. They are talented and have alot of weapons and the surprise is how well there Defence has played. Still a long way to go and injuries always have alot to say who the best team is at the end of the season. But out of all the football teams I have seen they are tough and have talent all over and great team speed. I would not bet my money against them getting beat. Looking forward to this weekend. Middletown is always a good team and they will come to play...
If Middletown wins they should be 9-0 when they meet Sallies. If Penn wins nothing in their way after Concord for an undefeated season. Penn has played a much tougher schedule so far and will for the year. 3 games against a # 2. Middletown has played 4 teams with 1-4 records. I think both St Marks and Sallies would be 5-0 if they played the same schedule Middletown. I think Penn will win and go 10-0 for the year.
