First time I've seen them play & they will not win there next game vs St. George's on Sunday. So sad they have all that talent and no direction. It's a complete mess on there bench. Too many voices. I was impressed with Cape & there coach does a nice job.

Everyone says they have "all that talent." I've seen them 7-8 times in the last few years and I just don't see that much talent. Who will go on and play after high school from that team? Come on, Raheem Burnett only ended up at a community college!

Mt. is a good Delaware team, that's it. Anyone can win this. No superior team this year, just who shows up to play will win. Mt. struggles vs zone & their options are limited without fast break points.

Usually when u end up at a community college, its more do to grades, 2x 1st team all state, its obvious he had talent

Nice player but Over rated. Came up small in every big game I ever saw him play.

If a BBall scholarship is the goal, there are many factors to consider as to why kids like Burnett end up at JC. For him I think size, bad advice & not being a factor on the national AAU circuit. For others it's grades or specifically not meeting NCAA eligibility requirements by end of junior year. I sense many parents/coaches don't understand or care enough about the rules until it's to late. kids/parents have to understand that delaware basketball success is great but it won't get u a scholarship. In todays game Colleges Coaches do almost 100% of their recruiting from AAU or powerhouse high school tournaments. If u r not a part of either no one's coming to delaware to see u. U are responsible for your own recruiting, most delaware high school coaches don't care or are only worried about winning the next chip. To frame this, AAU performance =scholarships, high school is about school pride & community which are important. Lastly AAU is a broad definition, so what I mean is playing on a travel team that competes in major tournaments. Boo Williams, hoop group, sneaker circuit, AAU nationals, major philly tournaments etc. Stay away from Sills or local delaware crap if the goal is exposure for scholarship opportunities. Most importantly u gotta hit those books. The eligibility clocks starts ticking freshman year.

THANK YOU!!!!!! They are just deeper or should I say use more players off the bench then anyone else which keeps players fresh.

I agree the talent was there. Alot of times when you don't take your grades serious in your freshman and sophomore years it's very hard to recover from that. Colleges see this as a reflection of how you will do your 1st 2 years of college.

I was just reading this article 2 weeks ago which reflects what you are saying......

College Coaches has much more to do with online video sharing and scheduling conflicts as it does the aau circuit. They will still go meet and watch the ones they want, but they aren't going to go looking for HS Gems anymore because they just don't have to do it.

For the record we must all realize the goal in playing basketball is to use it as a tool to get American american kids into college and get a degree. Mount had 8 seniors all in college (the main goal) 4 playing college sports this year and will be 6 next year.

What is an "American american"?

I was really surprised at Mount last night - they had attitudes, slumped shoulders and yelling at each other in spurts, that's not normally how that team does business. They still had enough talent to scrape by Cape, who really should be good next year with Rickards/Robertson and the freshman guard who's name escapes me right now.

Rawls and Hyland are a dynamic backcourt, but St. Georges needs more than those two to win tomorrow. Who will step up?

Freshman from cape is Barnes, very mature game for a freshman
