Cant really argue about Cape being no.1.. They beat 4 top 10 teams already and beat Sanford and Smyrna on there own floor.. When they where number 1... And still have to play St George's, Sussex Tech and C.R twice... No question.. Cape will be the most battle tested team when it comes Tourney time.....
Cape definitely deserves that #1 spot right now. Smyrna has got a similar if not tougher schedule w/ the Henlopen North teams then Caravel & Sallies, St. George’s & William Penn still remaining. I’m interested in seeing how they recover after that thrashing at home delivered by Cape. I like the upstate/downstate scheduling this year.
I got Woodbridge on my radar too...their only loss so far is to Sussex Tech & they got CR tonight at home then William Penn & Caravel later in the year in back to back games on the road.
Sussex Tech also being tested, sitting at 7-2 with wins over CR(by 11) and Woodbridge(probably will win the south).... losses to cape and Smyrna but will get to see both again. Tech remaining tough games with Smyrna, CR, Cape, William Penn, and Sallies... should be an interesting second half of the season
Yea Tech plays tough teams too... But they cant beat Cape or Smyrna.... Plus Tech on the road at Cape and Smyrna and C.R. will be on there A game to get revenge at C.R.. I think Tech will struggle big time on the road...
Yea it is... Cape will have a hard time at Delcastle today... But they should pull it out by 5... Emotional let down from big win over Smyrna. ..
On any given night, you can take most of the Henlopen North Teams over the opponents. Right now best conference in DE HS Basketball
Woodbridge plays hard, I️ wouldn’t count them out vs CR... and agreed.. the north is the toughest conference with Cape, Smyrna, Tech and CR all in the top 10 and also a young Dover team who could very well be a spoiler in this half of the season. All of their games have been pretty close...playing 8 games against top ten opponents may hurt but if they make the tournament could be tough
How so? I think it’s hard to do the rankings when all the teams are beating each other which seems to be what is happening so far this season.
I think Mt. Pleasant was in at #10 last week but w/ Sussex Tech’s upset of CR they leaped into the Top 10. I’d have them right on the outside looking in along w/ Woodbridge.
I agree. That jump to #4 was based solely on a win over Sallies who The News Journal was so big on at the time.
Barely beat Howard and Decastle... Corey team isnt that good he plays on... Mount is one player.. Ali thats it... No threat at all...
Mt. Pleasant doesn’t have any really impressive wins neither...I don’t see them at 5 & I like CR better. I also like Dover even at 4-6 ahead of those teams right on the outside looking in...they have 5 in-state losses all to Top 10 teams & a win vs Howard head-to-head. I think people are overlooking Woodbridge cuz of them playing in the Henlopen South but I got them knocking on the door of Top 10. Anybody attending the CR/Woodbridge game today keep us posted.
