Tech @Smyrna tonight! If they take care of business tonight I’ think they will have momentum and beat cape... should be interesting![/QUQUO
Only 2 teams beat Smryna in the state in almost 2 years.. Sanford and Cape.. The task wont be easy... I like Smyrna 15 or better... They will protect home court...
I wouldn’t say up north basketball has fell off...just a very good year for downstate this year. And trust & believe that Sanford alone will still make it hard for that trophy to make it’s way downstate this year.Has there ever been a time three Henlopen teams have occupied the top 5 prior to this week? And how did up north basketball fall off so quick?
As the old adage goes, "Defense wins games." Tech's offense is okay, but their defense is superb. In the games I've watched, Tech has been able to cause a ton of turnovers and get many steals.Tech @Smyrna tonight! I have seen about 6-7 Smyrna games & Bloodsworth doesn’t turn that rock over very much at all. Regardless of the outcome he has a very high basketball IQ & takes care of that ball once he gets it so Tech’s best shot is not letting him even get it. Bloodsworth has been the best point guard that I have seen this year by far in DE.As the old adage goes, "Defense wins games." Tech's offense is okay, but their defense is superb. Having said that, this game will be about defense. If they can contain Matthews and cause Bloodsworth to turn the ball over, Tech will win by 5. However, if Tech gives Caleb room, multiple shot opportunities, and allow Bloodsworth to get to the basket, Smyrna will win easy.
I agree that Bloodsworth protects the ball, that’s where Texh’s defense comes in at. He’s a great point guard. However, I biasly would disagree with the best “by far” statement because I personally believe Eden Davis’ IQ and talent is neck and neck with him- even as a sophomore. I believe in their 2 meetings this year, Eden Davis ripped in the high score of 26 points. Bloodsworth didn’t have much that game. However, in the second matchup, Bloodsworth had 20 and Davis had 14. The difference is Bloodsworth has a squad along with him and top ranked Caleb Matthews. Davis doesn’t have that elite squad yet. Next year will be different. Dover’s guards are getting better and better though.I have seen about 6-7 Smyrna games & Bloodsworth doesn’t turn that rock over very much at all. Of course you would like Eden more...LoL I like Davis’ game a lot & you mention the scoring but as a point guard your job is a lot more than scoring...not to mention that Bloodsworth has Matthews & Garnett on his team so he won’t always score a lot while Davis is asked to score a lot more for Dover. I would like to see Davis on a better all around team where he does not have to score as much cuz I think he is a true point guard vs being asked to score so much. Overall game I take Bloodsworth all day long as of right now though.I agree that Bloodsworth protects the ball, that’s where Texh’s defense comes in at. He’s a great point guard. You still think iam crazy...Crazy to say Tech doesn’t have a shot but we will discuss after the game...Their defense has gotten better each week and their offense is improving as well...should be interesting!
Lol.. Guess iam crazy.. But i have seen every team.. Pretty much know who can beat who...lolYup lmao
I guess we are looking at it from opposite points of view because to me, the greater challenge is to see what Bloodsworth could do if he didn’t have Matthews or Garnett or his other big at his disposal. If you’ve watched Davis play, you would see that he would easily put up a double double every game if he had Bigs who would do something with the ball after he penetrates and dishes it to them. Davis is an unselfish baller.Of course you would like Eden more...LoL I like Davis’ game a lot & you mention the scoring but as a point guard your job is a lot more than scoring...not to mention that Bloodsworth has Matthews & Garnett on his team so he won’t always score a lot while Davis is asked to score a lot more for Dover. Oh I know Davis is unselfish which is why I would like to see him on a team w/ scorers around him where he can distribute. I have watched him for years & know what he is capable of. I also have watched Bloodsworth for years, he did very well at St. Thomas More running the show for a Final 4 team last year & can score if he has too...he did open the season up w/ 27 at Cape when Garnett was out this year too & has picked up the scoring load when Garnett has been out in the past.I guess we are looking at it from opposite points of view because to me, the greater challenge is to see what Bloodsworth could do if he didn’t have Matthews or Garnett or his other big at his disposal. @84rider see you down Lewes Friday night.... When C.R visits Cape..I agree, Bloodsworth is ready steady, like J12 said his basketball IQ is high. He doesn’t get rattled when the games on the line. He’s that guy that leads by example imo

Yes, Eden Davis is the same way. They’re both cut from almost the same cloth. They were on the same AAU squads, getting a lot of the same instruction/coaching, destroying other teams when they were on Delaware’s Finest Stars/ 6th Man Warriors They’ve been on the same sides as well as opposing sides. (When Eden was playing up)I agree, Bloodsworth is ready steady, like J12 said his basketball IQ is high. He doesn’t get rattled when the games on the line. He’s that guy that leads by example imo
