The Mrs and I each year try and do a weekend trip somewhere at Christmas time. We have done NY numerous times, Cape May etc.. I realized we have been living here almost 10 years now and we never explored Philly. Been there to the zoo or whatever but never spent time and explored. Anyway we are going next weekend and staying a block off Love Park and obviously going to do the Christmas Village thing as well as eating my way through Reading Terminal Market is definitely on the agenda. SO the question is for those of you in the know any hidden gems or must see/do within walking distance in that area?

The Constitution Center is around 6th and Arch. This is if you are in a Patriotic mood.

If you want to walk about 10 blocks you can go to one of the best accordion shops on the East coast - Liberty Bellows. If you go, ask for Vladislaw. Just call him "big daddy Vladdy" and tell him Horst from Delaware sent you. He may give a complimentary 2019 Accordion Babes pinup Calendar. Hubba Hubba...

Lunch cruise on The Spirit of Philadelphia is pretty decent and affordable

The Ben Franklin Observation at the top of Liberty One is worth the elevator ride, 15th and Chesnut

Yikes. Fear of heights Just the thought of that freaks me out. If you have seen Mel Brooks “High Anxiety “ that’s me. We have to request no rooms above 5th floor for Christ sakes when we travel. Lol. Yeah not doing this

Pub Grub. Suggestions would be great. I like the lunch cruise suggestion. 10 blocks may be a bit much but I feel I have an obligation to my old pal Bummy to check out the accordion palace.

Maybe you and bummy can start an accordion band for halftime entertainment....
