Physical therapists should be busy today working on the officials who worked the Tech- Milford game. They had to have torn a rotator cuff or something from all the flag throwing . Not sure if they were trying to keep the game close, ( if so, they did a poor job) or there were actually that many infractions in one game. I have watched high school football all my life and don't recall ever seeing so many penalties called in one game. We hear all the time that a flag could be thrown on every play if officials wanted too. The boys last night were ridiculous.

Well said Riggo! 11 penalties were called against ST by the same official! Ironically he was the same guy who was on sideline last year for St versus Woodbridge. Guy must think the game is about him, and not the kids! What a shame. Feel sorry for him actually!

Let me get this correct, Tech wins a game 46-0 and you are going to complain about the officiating. Let me break down my count of the flags I saw last night that I thought were correct. 2 or 3 false starts/D-line infractions, 2 or 3 blocks in the back, 2 or 3 personal fouls 2 or 3 holds. I can assure you, there were some other calls that were actually missed. I do agree that the game was not the best officiated, but that shouldn't be what you are complaining about. What you should be complaining about is how poor and undisciplined Tech played last night. Tech is a championship caliber team, that needs to get their heads straight, If you bitch about calls playing a team like Milford, you have a lot of work to do.

The game could have been 65-0 or more. I have personally never seen a high school game where that many flags were thrown. Particularly against one team. It was ridiculous and certainly made many question what was going on. I know one of the "block in the back " calls was terribly wrong and happened right in front of one of them. I don't question the integrity of the officials at this game, I question they're knowledge of the rules.

I believe the call you are referring to was on a peal back block. I thought that was a call the ref got wrong. However, this is a call I have seen made many times, by many different crews. This was the only flag I thought that wasn't correct.I can also say there were two other blocks in the back by Tech that were not called. The point is that at this level officials are far from perfect.
Honestly, I would be more concerned with the multitude of calls that the officials got right. There were too many bad penalties on the part of Tech. They have a world of talent, and need to become more disciplined as the season goes on. You can't plant guys way after the whistle, you can't say the magic word to the official, you can't tackle by the face mask and you can't commit holding penalties 5 yards behind the play when you are right in front of the ref. The good news is that it didn't cost them Friday, but against a quality team it would have hurt them badly and probably cost them the game.

I wasn't there but I would like to offer this thought....it's not uncommon to have multiple false starts, motion penalties and encroachments early in the season. As we are now entering week four they should be decreasing. I don't think you can justify adding this type of call against an officials "total". As I said, I wasn't there, I don't know what the penalties consisted of. I've stated it many times, there are no quotas and the best games I've ever worked are the ones you didn't even know I was there. (Except for the one were I rotated on a short pass over the middle and ruled what Ikey says was his son's catch incomplete)

If you thought they were correct or not, why is it 2 or 3 on every comment you made. It should have been 2 definite or 3 definite. You are just as horrible as the one official who threw 11 flags. Make up your mind was it 2 or 3.

Because I wasn't counting the number of flags each official was throwing. I was not keeping track of the exact penalty count. I was simply commenting on the number of infractions that I saw called which I believed to be correct. If I put 2 or 3, that would indicated I saw a minimum of 2 of the listed infraction, possible 3. My point is that Tech was committing a large number of infractions and that they need to clean it up. I saw 1 flag, the block in the back that I thought was a missed call, that's it. I also believe that there were a few flags that should have been thrown that weren't.
