Playoff Outlook - May 11

First, the NewsJournal and LaxPower initially had the Delmar score from Tuesday wrong - they won and clinched a winning record for the season, giving all of their opponents a bonus point.

These scenarios below are based off the team records per laxpower and assume no major upsets the rest of teh way. It assumes a Dover win over StA and a McKean win over Hodgson on Saturday, and StMark over Newark tomorrow.

The Top 8 seeds have two scenarios, based on the Tower-Cape result from their upcoming Friday night game.

If Tower wins:
1) Archmere/Sallies winner
2) Archmere/Sallies loser
3) Tower
4) Friends (on head to head v Cape)
5) Cape
6) CR
7) Dover
8) DMA

If Cape wins:
1) Archmere/Sallies winner
2) Archmere/Sallies loser
3) Cape
4) Tower
5) Friends (win common opponent tiebreaker)
6) CR (win opponent overall record tiebreaker)
7) Dover
8) DMA

Seeds 9-12 will be effected by the Tower-Cape game and the Concord-MtP game, so there are three scenarios:

Tower wins:
9) St Marks
10) Polytech
11) Charter
12) Appo (win head to head tiebreaker with Sussex if Concord also wins)

Cape-Concord win: (very complicated tiebreaker for 10-12)
9) Poly
10) Sussex
11) St Marks
12) Charter

Appo out on three way tie between Sussex-StMark-Appo for last two spots.

Cape-MtP win:
9) St Marks
10) Poly
11) Appo
12) Charter

As you can see - very, very close for the bottom four seeds.

A couple of updates on the assumptions -

If At Andrews beats Dover on Saturday, it looks like the only thing that would happen is Dover drops to #8 and DMA bumps up to #7.

I assumed a McKean win over Hodgson for the projections - if Hodgson wins and against McKean today (and also won their game yesterday) they finish at 8-7 and give Sussex and Charter and extra bonus point.

If that happens, there are more scenarios where Sussex makes the field and Appo gets bumped.

If St Marks loses to Newark today, they drop out of the playoffs and both Sussex and Appo get in.
