Top 5 for D1 seems consistent... D2 its how much stock you put into the techs and DMA...I just think they don't have the studs this year, ST E and Tatnall do,, I do question my Archmere pick though,, No studs but they always do play well together

Just curious...Why is everyone so high on Woodbridge this year? I thought that they had lost a lot of Seniors from last years team, the stud LB Maghee, Davis and Temple. First ones that I can remember

I like them because they are really athletic and most of them have been playing together since they were 9. A true team like most below the canal teams. No hired guns. They aren't ECoodbridge. They're Woodbridge.

Yeah, I coached against many of them when they were little Pop Warner kids. It was obvious way back then that if they stayed together, they would be a heck of a team. Word is that a lot of the kids stayed in the program.

News Journal has their rankings online and they mirror what a lot of people here have posted. They also has caravel ranked pretty high despite that 3-6 record last year. Wonder what changed between then and now that would push them into the top 3. Anyone know?

Woodbridge is very athletic. They did however lose some key pieces. But I believe with the athleticism they can replace right away and compete. I think it's between them and Caravel. And I also just like Woodbridge because of fact that they grown as a team and don't rely on new kids to come in and lead them. I do like Glasgow I was impressed by their Safety can't remember his number.

I agree. I like Woodbridge's homegrown strategy and getting a little better each year until they're a favorite like they are. In contrast to a team like caravel who was pretty bad last year and got a bunch of ECA kids that put them towards the top. Should be an interesting year!

I've been impressed with Glasgow. And it's been like this for years now that I always think Glasgow will rise above my expectations. Have seen them in couple scrimmages and hoping this is the year they prove me wrong. I couldn't decide on DMA and St.E for #4 and #5. I like the way DMA is built. Only reason I gave them the edge. Cropper is an ATHLETE for sure just not sure what else they have around him.

Almost every starter is back. Coach Reed told me just three from last year are gone. The new quarterback, Alex Barker, transferred from ECA and is a D-I prospect. They also have two transfers at WR, Jawain Granger (ECA) and Noah Taylor (WP). Caravel is not used to going 3-6; that memory is driving them this year.

We'll find out very early if the hype is warranted. The Bucs open this Saturday at a very good Concord team, and they play Salesianum at home and Cape Henlopen on the road. They could make the D-II playoffs with 6 wins.

They return two all-state DEs. They return everyone except the guys you named, and Juwan Massey. They are very fast and super aggressive. Watch them.

As good as last year's seniors were for Woodbridge, this year's group is arguably stronger both in terms of skill and leadership qualities. Big key is that the QB is now a sophomore with a better understanding of the offense so perhaps there will be more of a passing game, to open things up for the stable of running backs. He got thrown into the starting role last year as a freshman when the starter (Holden) got hurt. Defense is loaded with talent (Vessels is a force to be reckoned with) though we'll have to see if the change at D-coordinator is good/bad/indifferent. Agree with previous posters that this team has grown together over the years and they are proud of what they can accomplish together, and understand just how much a great year will mean to their entire community (perhaps a bit like the Smyrna kids felt last year). Should be fun to watch.

I've been to quite a few D2 scrimmages in the past few weeks. St. E and DMA are going to be better then what most people think. This will be a down year for all the Tech schools in the state in my opinion. However I do think St. Georges will emerge to be the best out of all of them. Coach Maull is a good coach and his boys are always ready to play and compete.

Have to agree with the Woodbridge assessment. Does anyone know if that punter is coming back from last year? He looked great against my favorite team last season.

I think Woodbridges biggest question would be their head coach. He under-achieved at his last school. Good luck to them. Would be nice to see them win a D II championship.

Ed Manlove took Laurel to the D II championship game when he was HC in 2008. What credentials does he need?

He has definatley underachieved since then..He has had plenty of athletic teams since. So the questions remain.. Maybe this is his year? we will see

Guess getting to the semi-finals twice in the last 3 years is underachieving. His style isn't for everyone, and he's had the benefit of very good assistants, but he's gotten results.

How did he underachieve?

Any coach can win a ship if they have the right mix of kids, its about consistency and running a program.. He hasn't followed up that year even though he had plenty of athletes. Lets see what he does this year.

Besides I don't have respect for him when he cried like a bitch when CA put it on him in 2012 and tried to get every D2 soth team not to play them.. Thats soft in my opinion

Maybe he doesn't have respect for you for crying like a female dog on message boards about him crying like a female dog. Maybe he also doesn't have respect for how 3-6 ECAravel imported, to use your words, "the right mix of kids" from ECA so their 3-6 roster can try and win a (D2) championship off the backs of better athletes. Maybe, just maybe.

I have respect for him for fielding a team that competitive at a school that small. Always liked schools like Woodbridge, Delmar and Laurel for being tiny rural communities with good football teams. And they don't have the ability to bring in kids like a private school to try and buy a trophy. Like others. Won't mention names tho...
