Ok but seriously though Is Hugo playing? I have some sources telling me no others yes. I know hes on one of the top wrestlers in the country or whatever but with how much of a football school smryna is i find it kind of hard to believe he’ll just miss a play off game after being such a contributer to the team.

FFF in all seriousness. No one is going to know and those that do will not say.. No one from the Smyrna camp will say anything and no one is above spreading disinformation as a means to gain any competitive advantage.. Just consider it all fake news until game time. I will say with high confidence if Hugo does not play it would not be because of wrestling. It would be injury or something else..

Enough with the Hugo wrestling business. Some dufuss started an unfounded rumor just for kicks and it grew legs. Why would wrestling practice take precedence over football postseason? Does that really make any sense in anyone's mind? I've had three sons on Smyrna football during the "postseason era" who were known mainly as wrestlers. Not only did they not miss any football because of wrestling, they often enjoyed several transition days between the two sports without having to go to wrestling practice. It is a non-issue. Please stop with the silliness. Oy vey...

Sounds like someones a little worried.. wanna put money on it?

Wow, looks like Hugo was going to score 10 points for Smyrna's offense too! He da MAN! :)
If you understood football the defense can dramatically affect field position! Which inturn affects an offenses ability to score more often. Geez

Further more Sallies will have to double team him to contain him. If they do that Debo will have 20+ tackles. I'm not a Sallies or Smyrna guy. I seen each team play twice. It's my analysis.

Defense impacts field position in football? You really bugging now... Btw how exactly does Smyrna score 22 points...let me see...three TDs equals 18, oh yeah, plus two 2-pt conversions. But if one defensive person doesn't play, they only score two TDs and zero 2-pt conversions....Oh, I get it now....:)

You obviously no nothing if you don't think defense effects field position. So maybe the score ends up being 17-14 if Harp doesn't play in Sallies favor. Either way the same net result will occur. Lol

Listen, I was being facetious (treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humor; flippant.) about field position because defensive is obviously a factor in field position. I was just ragging you because you stated something so obvious. I'm sure I know a little more about football than you do, but your analysis is your analysis, and I will leave it alone. Truth is that no one knows who will play until game time. And that is how it should be. I care most about the kids leaving the field healthy. The score will be what it will be.

Nope. Just saying I know a little. I really don't care who wins the game. It should be a good one no matter what. My Middletown boys will have a tough 2nd round opponent either way. I'm looking forward to seeing some tough competitive games the next few weeks. I apologize for offending you. I get a little hyped up sometimes .

Oops. If Sallies wins it could be SC or Concord.

No thanks...and why do you think it is OK to spread news about another teams player(s)?

Seems like you’re pretty shook..sorry for offending you.. i didnt say he is or isnt playing.. besides even if i did you people should know better than to believe everything you see on the internet ;)

I'm too old to be offended by forum chat. I'm just surprised by the talk about just one player on Smyrna's defense. They have a more complete D this year compared to some years in the past. Mainly seniors, and the defensive backfield is one of the best I've seen over the decade of watching them. In these playoff games, it's always a kid you don't think about who will step up and make a difference. Hugo and Debo will get theirs, but there are a lot of unheralded contributors that can be game changers. Keep an eye on Sembly-#3, Nyameke-#7, Larson-#5, Hart-#9, and several others on the D. The offense, when clicking (and not making silly penalties) will be hard to stop. I'm more anxious to see the offense work against Sallies than the D. But, like I said, things never go like they are predicted. Good luck to all the teams. I know how hard they have worked.

Some of you on here ride this Hugo train hard. He had two good games out of 10? One against a soft SC team and the other against an ailing Sals team. Besides those two opponents has been average at most. He is not a game changer for Smyrna. Leave that to Debo. Debo doesn’t need Hugo while Hugo needs wrestling.

I agree with a lot of that. They're defense has jelled as a unit over the course of the year.
