My last FB post until the August practice begins.
I was impressed this year by the Big S10th grade contingent.
Sure, the club had some luck but the sophs improved as the year went on.

Here is my take. So what?
All they are is a lot of potential. Of the sophs that played... they were like 5.0's to
5.5 on a scale of 10. (That is Bummy's scale..has nothing to do with other ratings).

OK, one kid may have been a 6. (9.0-9.5 being Godwin, O'Neill, Henderson, Reeders, & Will Knight)

I have seen this act before. Unless they step it up, they are just a heartwarming
story for 2018. I have warned my son in law not to get to high on these guys. They have a lot of work to do and Smyrna, Hodgson, Central, Dover, Middletown have more talent.

I can't wait until August.

I think next years class will have more state championships. This years class has Cross Country, Soccer, should have Swimming today and LX and Volleyball are locks for 5 Titles.
Next year will be able to add Football and Wrestling I suppose.

You know, they have a large room downstairs over at 18th and Broom packed solid with trophies the don't have room to display

Thank you for helping make my point. Trophies are for what has happened in the past. Now, on to the future.

Speaking of 10th graders,IMO this Yelbert kid is gonna be special. Really amped up his game as the season wore on and should put on some more height/weight (6'4" 225) by next fall

Classic Bummy. He says this is his last football post until August. Then he posts 3 hours later. As Bummy claims to have seen a few games last year, I would have to think he has Yelbert as a 6.

I am looking forward to the 2019 Sals Road Show, also.

Yelbert will be the highest recruit from Delaware besides Wormely in the last couple of years. Kid will be a beast. Never even played defensive end before last year. Also they have many other kids that should be higher than bummys “6”. Mooney, Methlie, Stradley, Healy, Caulk all great players that would start anywhere in the state next year

The flip of Bummy's post is more the truth; the Sophs are way hungrier that the outgoing group. Last they gave only 6 points as Freshmen. I for one expect everyone to be surprised.

Hungrier then the group that was supposed to go 2-8 and returned like 5 starters but made it to the championship game?

If Sals doesn't win it next year it will be a big black eye for their program lol no pressure

6-4 record...last one in or first one out? Still don't understand why they wouldn't play every game on the road next year so that in 2021 all games would be played at home. You know for when this group becomes the super seniors and they would supposedly be back to back champs :D:D:D. All games go through Wilmington.

Looking forward to next year. Win with humility. Lose with dignity. I hope Sals fans are humble the first week of December.

There is kind of a false premise here. Though the Big S had a lot of 10th graders, they had some very solid seniors...like McNabb, Bushweller, Mettenheimer, Fowler, Regan, Pacheco...to name a few off the top of my head...

Ah, but their always ready to scrimmage
….and as much as I would like to see a regular season game with the Cape and/or Sussex Central, I am thankful that SC provides that tri scrimmage every year.

Ches; I am so moved by the generosity of the Cape School administrators to throw us this morsel that I will make a novena to the Blessed Mother as thanks. Perhaps Uncle Bummy can join me. BW, I went past the AB yesterday. Still nothing going on.

The thundering unicorns were out last night but can't tell anything from 7v7, just like you can't tell anything from freshman teams.
