Sals much better than everyone expected

So is Friends and St Marks.. just saying ... I believe everyone had Sals in top 4 in all the preseason rankings. Sals has a long way to go before your Sals v MT in the ship prediction come to fruition. Might want to slow that roll some Father Judge is not a very good team they probably wont even be .500 this year.
Father Judge also plays a crazy difficult schedule and would be at least a top 4 team in Delaware
OK. I will buy that. I had predicted a 5-5 season. Let's see how they do on the road trip. If they go 1-3 over the next 4 weeks what will you think.?

dont know about top four maybe top 8 if were counting D1 and D2.. The team FJ did beat is 1-4 JMHO
I have been saying they’re transfer rb may be the best in the state. At least top 3
Yeah actually sallies looked worse than I expected. They have a ways before they can beat Middletown, Smyrna, or Westminster.
I probably won't be seeing them again until the MDT game. I think they are a year away and that they are susceptible to losing 5 out of the next 7 games. You can't get cranked up about beating Concord. Tech probably beats the if they had Kane. They hung with Judge but Judge had the momentum if the game goes into OT.

I concur with Bummys statement about Sallies being a year away. No matter who wins it this year, I think sallies should, and I stress should win it next year easily. They are young, and are only going to get bigger and faster and the game should slow down for them. Judge didn't impress me either. Their entire offense was their QB and running back 25 who got hurt. Once he went away you could tell they struggled.
I also get the sense that sallies is going to run Watkins into the dirt. Their offense runs around him. QB can't throw deep ball, and when he does it floats too much risking the pick. and they rely too much on Watkins big run ability. You contain Watkins and you stop the Sals and they should be worried about any team they face that can throw. Corners looked best to be 5 foot 5....at best?

Their QB was a sophmore who was third string at the beginning of the season and just threw two touchdown passes. They don’t even have their starting QB back and when he does get back then the current one can move back to defense. Will keep getting better and do have a chance this year with a great defense
lol no I don't think sallies has a chance at all. I'm sorry. But it doesn't matter if the QB is the third string or not. Fact of the matter is, he's the starting one right now and my evaluation is fair. I've seen the first string as well, and all he's going to be asked to do is hand the ball off to Watkins. Hes sallies entire offense.

I may have the Sals a little higher rated than hs. I think when the 1st string QB comes back they mix in a little more of the passing game. There was a few new offensive looks last night like the pistol.
Yes, maybe the hits took their toll on number 21 last night. He may have worn down as the night went on. I think to run their bread and butter stuff you need a hoss like Patrick or Reeder.
I think Judge has talent. Let's see how they do in the Catholic component of their schedule.

Sals & passing game .... funny !! DiNardo will never change ... run off tackle left , run off tackle right ( mix in a throw to TE occasionally) .... REPEAT !! Hell, he had a kid the last 3yrs who could actually throw ; and RARELY LET HIM THROW .
Very true but FJ counts as D2 in points and wont provide any bonus points for 7 plus wins..Like the Bumster said the impending road trips will determine the Gents fate for qualifying for for states
I can't figure BDN. He had quarterbacks that could throw at MT. He had Delledonne for threw for over 2000 yards. Then nothing after that???A problem with his method is that H.S football only has 12 minute quarters. and you might only get 8-9 possessions in a game. A grind it out style is fine if you don't run the clock down and then turn it over. Its hard to come from behind with the grind.
There have been a few QB's at Sals who I think could sling it as well..I also said if Sals changed up and threw the ball vs Smyrna in their last championship game they would have won easy..Back up QB or not. Nope just tried to ride the Reeder train.. Actually if I remember correctly the young QB threw a nice TD pass before half then they came out second half and just went Reeder left Reeder right..Even on the play that ended the game everyone in the stadium knew what was coming and so did Smyrna lol Conservative is an understatement describing BDN
Nothing to really figure out, simple as this, prove to me you can stop "God's play".

I will give you that..Programs should have a system and the real good programs teach that system in the rec leagues as the kids come up..Obviously today with school choice and what not its not possible But yes I agree teams that just run various plays from whatever set is no better than just drawing plays up in the dirt..The backs can run whatever play no problem but the line needs a system and blocking rules whether it be GOD or whatever
Linganore tapped Westminsters ass 48-7 .. but Linganore looks like they have a state champ team like they do every few years, None the less I dont think the Owls are as good this year as last 3-1 but barely beat South Hagerstown. Not sure if that matters as SH has been thumping folks also From what I hear Liberty is real good as well Some quality teams in western MD this year but The Owls come to Potter field this year so the Sallies have a chance
Father Judge is D1 for our point system. They have approximately 900 boys. Multiply that by 2 and the 1800 takes it well over the threshold.
I hope BDN coaches at the Big S another 15 years.

At least 10 more years with the God's play (smash mouth spread) philosophy. Even the talentless Chesdels of the world can have some success. It has worked for him at the Auks, Bucs, Cavs, and longest with the Sal gals.
