Yup! BDN did not waver despite all the criticism, (on this board). He called a good second half plan. Great game played by both squads and the sportsmanship displayed by both teams towards the end and after the game was great stuff.

No need to defend BDN to me. It was a great game by the young Sals. Run the ball. I am OK with a run first offense. I do know that if you are down by 2 TD and don't have the passing capabilities it will be difficult to catch up.

To play that style (Montero, Olivadotti, Glenn, BDN) you better have a great defense and special teams.

Last night, they were down by 1 TD and they made it work. I think they wore the Owls down.

They did have like a 50 yard pass to #12 in the beginning of the game.

TPS?

Sals played a nice game. They stayed strong after the interceptions. Ran against a tough team. They might not win the State Championship this year but that was a nice win against a very sound team.

I had Olivadotti for Physical Education as a Freshman. Still hurting from that first round loss to Newark.

Me, too. Rocky Rees was the Newark Coach after Bob Hoffman and before Butch Simpson. They outplayed the Sals very solidly that day. Dutch Hoffmann to Chris Mench TD pass still gives me pain 43 years later.

Crazy day, St. Marks lost to CR and Sals lost to Newark. CR won it all the next week....

That was a real nice team too. Sillacato with Jay Faulkner and Vaughn Brooks running the option.. went in at the half 7-0 it was all set up for a St Marks_SALS final. I think it affected me to this day

lol Sorry Bill I get it. but really Sals won because Westminster had to start a WR at QB and their stud QB was hurt..Not to mention Westminster runs a offense that is not conducive to bad weather Not that the WR QB could have run it anyway but that is the point. They sat their stud due to weather to heal as this game meant nothing to them for their play-offs. Hey the stars aligned for the Sals but to make some point this old school football is relevant and BDN did some great coaching job is well is what it is nostalgic.. revel in it but dont bust my balls because I am not slurping it up
