Sanford's done it again - 8 state championships (most of any school) 5 with Stan as head coach (most for any head coach), congrats to those guys.

St. G put a good scare into them. Sanford turned up the D to another level the last few minutes. Dixon has to be POY. Two teams in a row tried to shut him down and couldn't do it the whole game.

With the exception of Dixon this is probably the weakest Sanford team in termsof talent the last ten years. Coaching was huge this go round

Second game in a row where the 4th quarter proved who was better on the sidelines. Not much left for Stan to do, he's got 16 wins to go before he reaches 500, after that...I don't know what else is possible.

The shot by Walsh was huge. Hyland hits the 3 for two point SG lead but The Splinter swished one to re-tie it. St George scored only one point the rest of the game.

Not so sure about that. Yes the coaching is great but the kids on this team knew and played their roles. Kyle Evans shut down Rawls all day. He would be an offensive star on most teams in the state too but accepts his role as defender and facilitator. He should be second team all state with Jacob Walsh.

The entire Sanford squad is solid and has been all year. Stan's strength is in assigning proper roles and working his guys to their fullest potential within those roles. They were undefeated in state this year and came very close to beating the No. 2 team in the country. If this was the weakest team in ten years, then it seems to me that Sanford can look forward to title after title after title.

Sanford will always be good as long as Stan's the coach. Can we say right now he's the best high school coach in Delaware history (all sports)?

Championship game MVP if I had a vote.

IMO, Evans is very underrated. Very smart player and usually under control. The definition of a quarterback at the point position. He had a few bad plays yesterday which were very uncharacteristic of his play this season. He will be difficult to replace next year for Sanford. Interested to see where he plays next year.

FullcourtBob, u are totally 100 percent correct regarding your comment on this years Sanford team, Stan just did an amazing coaching job with this team, they all knew and played their roles to perfection and accepted them, one of the most unselfish teams I have seen in a long time, they really bought into Stan's system. Reminded me of the 76ers team that went to the finals against LA, Iverson and Mikey both did their thing and the others realized their leader and did what they needed to do to win. They totoally deserve to come out on top. best coaching performance in a long time. Stan really deserves coach of a lifetime, as all these kids will succeed in their lives.
