In a battle of fringe teams, I'm surprised Conrad is getting dusted like that.
Tower Hill leads Tatnall 13-10 at the half.
I am not surprised,,, they are part of the north privates and charters whom play weak schedules to go 10-0 to make play-offs That includes the silk panty teams in the Indy conference who refuse to play anyone..... Only Milford has a SR laden team and bounced them... Just like Friends last year.. No way in hell Friends was among the states best 8 teams in D2
It's crazy because the way it could shake out, we have the same thing this year with Friends, Tower, Tatnall and/or Conrad all backing in, only to get punished by a good Hen South/Flight B team. The points system is what it is, but DIAA should take a second look if Friends goes 9-0 and has a higher seed than Hodgson or St. Mark's for example.
Could you make this situation better by the following? I'm going off what the PIAA points and calculating with only two divisions in DE.
Division 1 Schools
100 Points for win over another D1
80 Points for win over D2 team.
For each opponent victory(regardless if you win or lose head to head) you accumulate 10 bonus points for each victory.
Division 2 Schhols
100 Points for win over another D2
120 Points for win over D1 team
Same bonus points as above.
I'd have to take a closer look at schedules to see how that would affect current playoff rankings...
Talk amongst yourselves.
Cheers,
Busch
This is interesting. Maryland has a unique class system that I like also. They have 4 separate classes (1 point for a win against a 1A school, 2 for a win against a 2A and so on, zero points for a loss and bonus points if an opponent wins 8 plus games). DIAA could do something similar if they ever expand divisions.
Fr. Judge 7 Sallies 0 halftime40-14 Smyrna over Dover in the 4th quarter. Been the William Knight show - 5 TD runs, 5 2pt conversions.
Hodgson leads Howard 7-6 in the 2nd quarter.
