Once again, you see the difference in track when it comes to what schools are actually using the system live, what schools are simply just inputting the results after the fact and what schools simply don't use the system at all. Nothing in track from the Sallies/Smyrna match which was held at Sallies on Friday, nothing in track from William Penn/Sussex Central being held at William Penn today at 2:30pm. Why do I put the home school, well shouldn't they be the ones inputting the information live ~ isn't that what you have School Managers for or even Wrestling Moms? In today's day of technology it is quite sad that this wonderful tool is being disregarded and abused. Looked at the Sanford HS vs Dover on 2/1/17 info on track... every Fall was recorded at 0:00 ... good record keeping.

Using it live can be tough when it comes to getting passwords and getting good trustworthy people to get the results inane use the system right. Home school should be responsible for putting in scores but I think Blue Hen conference says winning school is responosible for it. I can see how a non conference dual can end up not getting put in right away

I can see the problem with getting somebody trained correctly to use it, but it really isn't a hard system to learn. As for the passwords, if I am not mistaken at minimum the one coach has to be a teacher or administrator or something like that at the school which means he/she has a school computer with a reliable internet connection. Again, it is 2017, this should be a no-brainer. Technology is important and even more so for the parents/friends/families that cannot make the event due to unforeseen circumstances, whatever they may be.

Not every school has that rule of one coach being in-house.

Let's be honest, D1 will come down who's healthy, the coin toss and a couple breaks. Cape, Central and Smyrna are pretty close to one another. Cape is a better team than what they showed against Smyrna earlier this year. Central needs to stay healthy. IMO.

Well that's just sad then... no education connection to these kids. Either way, in today's "turn your cell phone into a hot spot" and unlimited data streaming available, not to mention an xfinity wi-fi tower available on almost every corner up North (which it appears these are the schools not posting)... again, no excuse.

I've coached for 28 years at the same school with "no education connection" and never worked in the school. Thank god my kids still managed. Guess hiring a teacher that wrestled in middle school would have been better for them!

Totally agree. I don't think "no education connection" was a fair statement. I know coaches that are not in-school but very involved with their wrestlers academic standing. Some of these coaches are teachers just not at the school they coach at. Some are not teachers but still make it work. It's actually harder on these coaches but they figure it out. IMO not "sad" at all.

But back to the subject of posting scores, there really is no excuse to not have them posted within 24 hours of the event. You can have a coach or manager do it at home if live scoring isn't an option.

By making the comment "no education connection" I was referring to being able to have intervention at the school level. Without a coach who works at the school, with privacy laws nowadays, there is no access to the kids grades, attendance and performance in the classroom. This year alone I have seen 3 kids fall out of line ups due to grades and/or other situations, including home issues. These kids are going through so much these days, having that connection is quite important since most are not going to be honest about their situations, especially if it is something occurring at home. Having access to those school records is important IMO.

While I think it is a benefit to having a coach in-house I don't think it is "sad" or detrimental to the program. I do agree that it would make it easier for the coaching staff for grades, recruiting non-wrestlers, etc. Hopefully the schools in this scenario have programs/processes in place that address the academic concerns.

Where are the scores for CRs match last night? Can't find them on track? No wifi or hot spots available?

Caravel swept all 3 and should make the tournament.. at the risk of sounding like a complete homer I must say.. I don't think the Bucs have a chance off winning it but by just getting there Coach Welch and staff has done an amazing job based on what they started with and what the team is now....
