DC) Siera Jones pitched a great game with 5 K’s. Siera Jones and Louisa Re both went 2 for 3 as they paced the Lady Royals of Delmarva Christian to a 16-6 win over the Lady Dragons of Glasgow. (GH) Dymond Taylor went 2 for 3 with a double.
In the AI Dupont Classic Championship game, Samantha Carbonara and the St. Georges defense held AI Dupont to 5 hits a 1 run while St. Georges 14 hits led the offense and defeated the Lady Tigers of AI DuPont by a 12-1 score. St. Georges offense began in the 2nd with Seiverd, Carbonara, Hawke having consecutive hits to lead off the inning with Sierra Vance hitting a line drive double to the fence to score 2 runs. In the 3rd, Carbonara led off with a triple followed by an off the fence double by Krissy Hawke building their lead to 7-0. AI Dupont began hitting Carbonara in the 4th with 3 hits by Kasnic, Stevens, and Waters and a run but the St. Georges defense stopped any further threat with a tremendous defensive play by SS Haley Hearn. 2 more runs were added by the Hawks in the 4th following a lead off double by Rachel Dimarcello and then added 3 more runs in the 6th. Fo r the Hawks, Samantha Carbonara was 3 for 4, Krissy Hawke was 3 for 4 and 2 RBIs, and Rachel Seiverd was 2 for 4. Sierra Vance had 4 RBIs in the game while Mackenzie Porter had 5 stolen bases. Outstanding sportsmanship was exhibited by both teams!
Kaylee Hazewski started the game off with an infield single and scored to put RLCA on the board but the Lady Force of Charter won by a 12-2 score. In the 5th inning, Katie Massih and Taylor Gillis each knocked in 2 runs to give CSW the lead for good. Payton Czerwinski scattered 4 hits while Casey Meyer, Katie Watson and Zoe Jones played outstanding defense.
Concord’s Rachel Pritchard pitched a 2-hitter with 14 strikeouts to earn her 10th win of the season as they defeated the Lady Redskins by a 10-2 score. Offensively, Concord’s Sarah Raab went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s and scored 2 runs, Aly Fox went 2 for 3 with an RBI triple, and scored 2 runs, Makaila Gordy had a 2-run RBI single, another RBI, and scored a run, and Shelly Johnson went 2 for 3 with an RBI, and scored 2 runs. Rachel Prichard went 2 for 3 with a double, Eryn Bailey had 2 hits and an RBI, Olivia Christy had a hit, an RBI, and scored two runs, and Mary Plasmier had a hit and scored a run. Conrad’s Nicole Erhart had a double with 2 RBI’s.
CR) Kendall Lewis went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored, Alyssa Ball went 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI as they defeated the Lady Eagles of Smyrna by a 5-3 score. Olivia Faragher had 2 RBI’s and 1 run scored for the Lady Eagles.
Grace Walker went 3 for 4 with an RBI and home run for Caravel Academy as they defeated the Lady Indians of Indian River by a 5-3 score. Madison McGee went 2 for 4 with a RBI for Indian River.
Emily Proffitt was 4 for 4 with 3 RBI’s and 2 runs scored and Jen Sieminski pitched a 3-hit 12-0 victory shut out win for Caravel Academy. Hannah Layton and Briana Allen went 1 for 2 for Laurel.
