Hard fought game but Dover was too much in the second half. Dover only led 29-27 @ the half w/ Allen & Hoskins both having 3 fouls. Second half was all Dover led by Allen getting hot. Woodlin was cleaning up the boards, blocking shots & dunking all over Smyrna including a hard one-handed and 1 bang in transition. Hoskins also played well attacking the basket while playing through foul trouble. Smyrna was probably led in scoring by their shooter Matthews but most of those came when the game was already decided...he had a rough shooting night & a lot of turnovers as Dover trapped & frustrated him all night. Jamier Garnett (freshman) & Javier Worthy played well but Dover just too much for them tonight.

First half very competitive but the officials were awful. The game had no pace at all. They were calling fouls on almost every possession. Smyrna was in the double bonus with 6 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

A lot better officiating in 2nd half. Once the game got into a flow, Dover's athleticism was too much for Smyrna. Dover is right there with Mt Pleasant, St Georges. Not sure about Sanford. Haven't seen them...

Well put BriggsBeall...the refs seemed like they were calling fouls each time down the floor. There was one point in time when 4/5 Dover starters had 4 fouls. I thought the turning point in the game was when Dover went on like a 10-0 run in the 3rd quarter before Smyrna called a timeout...they kept their door on the gas after that. I would be surprised to see any team in DE more athletic than Dover. They are definitely right there w/ St. George's (loss to them by 2 earlier this year) & Mt. Pleasant but I think Sanford is on another level right now & they have the best player in the state.

Smyrna really held Allen In the first half. Whatever the halftime speech was it sure was a good. Dover came out playing well. Dover with Woodlin and Hoskins can really help Allen's game. Most teams try and stop Allen as soon as he gets the ball hoping he picks up his dribble. Having two legit big man can really question teams if they really want to focus on just Allen or those big guys. Would love to Dover play against St.George's and Stanford again.
