For all of the chatter about the shift of power going to southern public schools there will be 3 northern private schools in the final 4. The youth is north as well, may be a while before we see a Henlopen team representing. Need more 7’0” from Africa south of canal.

Sussex Tech and Smyrna are playing each other.... Glasgow only beat Cape by 6 and no Rickards, its a no brainer, they would of won with him.
Did Nwanko make a difference for Smyrna last year? Yes. Would they have been in the same position without him last year? I also say yes. Mears is a good coach with good players and the way the brackets shook out, Smyrna still would've won because the big fella really didn't do much in the Final Four. It was all Garnett and Matthews.
I say this as a guy who can remember what a shock it was when Seaford won in '97 and Lake Forest got to the title game in '99 - the balance of power HAS shifted. More opportunities downstate for kids to play and the charter/private school movement has eaten upper New Castle County public schools alive. South of the Canal/Middletown has been better across the board in every sport this year, and I don't think that'll change anytime soon.

Good point. Looks like Smyrna will squeak by Sussex Tech. Lots of “depth” downstate.
