What was the controversy in 5th? Could only see coach on field with cell phone?

It’s plausible that the 3 run homer for the Sals could have been ruled a double or triple as apparently the ball got tangled up somehow in the LF fence. I could not see the LF corner but the CR Coach was hot.

This is actually nice work by WMDT. Please read the article and watch the video to get an understanding of why the coach and ump exchanged the cell phone to get some clarification on the pitch count rule in bottom of the 5th inning.

Props to CR team who didn't have anything go their way in the game. Props to the CR coach for staying under control after he made reasonable objections.

Props to Dave Baylor who didn't skirt the issues.

I think the 4 man umpiring crew may have missed the ball in LF.. maybe not knowing assignments...not sure of this but it can be corrected in the future.

Congrats to the Sals for winning the baseball tourney where you were seeded 13th. Just goes to show you - "you never can tell".

Sallies lost to 7 in state opponents before going on a 8-0 hot streak to end the season..Coach deserves a lot of props also !!!!
