I've been in the DE HS Basketball Circuit for the AJ English Days, the Cooney Days, the Donte Days and now the Rufo Days, but never have I seen a less talented semi-final than the first game last night. What is going on?

Talent level down but gotta take your hat off to those teams who play "team" ball with good coaching such as Caravel who went through some good teams to get where they are. Every year can't be comprised of Patriots type teams....same applies to college & pro sports.

Before that you had Jawan Carter, Nafis Richardson, Cooney, Donte, Jordan Allen/Mikey Dixon and this year was "Myles Cale", Kent left the state.
Delaware has players scattered around, just never get much exposure or workouts.
But the Key thing is there is really only 1 player to mention per era or time. The talent isn't spread or out there. Then the talent we do get Trey Duval and DeAndre Vilimar leave for other states.

Talent level low also in the rookie class of the NBA too if Noel Embiid wins rookie of the year and only played 31 games and never played in a back to back game somethings wrong with the younger group of kids even lasts years class no big superstars are standing out night in and night out imop

Small State, less population, less talent. Simple, no ones fault. Also, creates top heavy competition. North schools are better than south schools, in general. Less population in S. Kent and Sussex counties...less talent, in general. Thank goodness for the town of Smyrna, they provide some hope.

I don't think you can say population cause state population has grown we lost love of the game, the passion to work on your game, parks are empty I remember waiting hours just to play next the boys and girls club use to be $5 for the year if not that Rec use to be free we had older kids teaching you how to play team ball today I see to much one on one and the Big's don't know how to posted up they hang to much on the 3 point line I went to my nephews game and kids don't play defense he said he ain't going to cross me up smh

Don't know if this is serious but is it just me or are the kids getting smaller ? Varsity teams look like what jv and freshman teams did a couple years ago it's crazy as a Newark guy some examples are players like Taylor Reynolds Xavier Griffin David grinnage Xavier Purnell & Andre Horne that wasn't even the best team in the state at the time but that team then vs anybody now would blow any team out the water

Couldn't agree more. A true anomaly! Thanks Obama, am I right?
