Now after approving the game last night after CA proved to them there was no contract with CAP and Cap doesnt want to play anyway.. Now they have turn coated and say CA and Concord can't play even if CA takes the FFT citing it would an 11th game and against DIAA rules... Didn't Seaford do this just a couple years ago and FFT to a Conference foe and played ST Andrews??? This is some real BS..

This after Concord told their kids and pulled all the equipment back out... this is nuts DIAA is way wrong on this one

RR.. do you have the teams mixed up because St. Andrew's forfeited against Milford to play Seaford who only had 9 games but never replaced game. St. Andrew's would have been the team in violation of the 11 games schedule given they forfeited and then played Seaford.

It probably has to do with Caravel's increased chances to make playoffs if they won.

VOR .... CAP is the one that doesnt want to play and there is NO CONTRACT with CAP... Which DIAA Chief verified yesterday.. SO there is no FFT to begin with BUT CA was willing to give up any points for Concord and just play a game and DIAA won't let the kids play anyway... THIS is BS anyway you cut it

This was one of the issues I was pointing out yesterday. The non-contract is the real issue and it should not be. I actually think it should work to CA's advantage, but felt that the DIAA could twist it. It is a chicken or the egg type of thing. How can there be a forfeit without a contract? However, how can you schedule a game without a contract? The way I read the rule, CA should have been fined $50 and been allowed to schedule Concord. Either way, this is a problem of the DIAA's making that they should have addressed last season, when this very scenario was mentioned by quite a few people.

Why didn't Caravel try to schedule this game 6 weeks ago or even the beginning of the season, Concord had this open all year. I like Caravel's idea of trying to get a better game for their seniors, but I think the timing of it is a little fishy. Now if CR didn't beat SC would this be happening???

Any other state organization, besides DIAA, would have handled this situation a lot better.

Hey, this was just as fishy when AI was talking about scheduling this exact same way 4 weeks ago and nobody said boo. If it wasn't a problem then, it shouldn't be a problem now.

Who cares? No one knows... 6 weeks ago CAP had more players and was supposed to play at the PG Sports Complex not some crap hole...Concord was hoping to schedule AI and AI was waiting to see their fate and point situation and even said as much in a NJ article.. The opportunity presented its self and CA tried to make it work .. you can argue intent till the cows come home but that doesn't change rules... When CAP didn't want to play CA could have scheduled Oxford or some weak D1 PA team that didn't make the play-off last minute like St Marks did a few years back to better their play-off position. There were folks on here who thought that was fishy is unfair but it was within the rules so there was nothing to be done about it.

Concord if they were in the running would have waited to see their position after week 9 and done the same thing as St Marks

Quick Pro Quo do you think Caravel schedules this if Sussex beat CR

The fact that the AI situation was in the NJ and nothing was mentioned about an 11th game is fishy in itself especially since I'm sure Dickinson is contracted and would have been the same 11th game scenario.

Probably not but I don't make those decisions as I am not in the war room.. but there is more to it than just that.. Myself I wouldn't normally but CAPS situation being what it is at this point.with the field and all I might be looking for a replacement game regardless of points I wouldn't drag my kids 2 hours to play a team with 13 kids on a field like that..

So what is still my response.. Anyone is going to do whats in the best interest of their program regardless what week it is

It's The right call. Any way you look at it. You cant have your cake and eat it to. If you are scheduled to play someone you must honor the commitment. I applaud the DIAA for their decision.

The real question is, why would they schedule that team anyway. Who made that call??? You really need to know what your getting into before you agree to play a team. This is a great lesson for future coaches.

South I understand about honoring the commitment but you don't know the facts.. Fact one CA scheduled them last year to come up when they couldn't get a week 10 game scheduled late in Aug paid for them to come and fed them dinner... It was a 1 year contract with a soft verbal commitment to play the following year if both teams need the game.. CA went late this year with again not able to find a week 10 game and CAP said they would play again but there was no contract as both wanted the right to schedule someone else if they could. Caravel AD really shouldn't have posted the game on websiteforsports without a signed contract so that was a mess up there IMO.. Could CA have schedule Conrad earlier sure(if Conrad would have taken the game then we don't know) ... If CA was still in the running would they have tried to schedule Conrad? probably not would just take the points and divide by 9 or get CAPS to sign up and offer for them to come to CA again.. So when CA was out of it it made sense to not go to CAP under the circumstances.. Made more sense to schedule Conrad and play a good game at home and give Conrad a week 10 game..

The thing some folks are missing is Conrads points would not have gotten CA in anyway.. There was no contract with CAP so they are not dishonoring anything.. CAP doesnt want the game but they would have signed up and played if CA needed it and still may if the can find a suitable venue.. Cravel wants to play and not have the points count.. what so hard about this? other than it lets screw Caravel out of what they want to do and screw Conrads kids because we hate Caravel.. is what it s ..

I have spent way to much time being aggravated about this today and have work to do...

That's exactly right, and Caravel has a long history of doing this in other sports. DIAA made the absolute right call on this.

DIAA hasn’t made a good decision in years. The pattern continues . The game should be played. Caravel wasn’t going to get in the playoffs even if they won. Slimmest of chances .

Stupid people making stupid decisions. Been that way forever here in Delaware . Will never change .
