what games should we look forward to for week 1 in the first state?

The Harvest Bowl right at the top of the list. I just have to say it does my old Delaware heart good that Smyrna and Middletown have revived that game.

Couple of low-key D1 matchups (Appo/CR, St. G/Cape) could give the winners a head start on that 6th and final playoff spot in D1.

St. Mark's and Conrad have been underachievers for the most part since they've both been D2. A win for either school could spark momentum for a playoff spot.

Friends and AI that first Saturday should be good too.

Caravel vs Woodbridge @ WB

HVT vs Dover @ HVT 10:30 am

Sallies vs Penn @ AI

What did Penn get this offseason? Alot of people have high hopes for them to be good again. If I remember correctly they did have a good end of the season, but whats their QB situation? I know they were rotating one of their LBs that was at Appo before playing receiver and the tall kid (cant remember his name)

I was at that Penn/Appo game and the tall kid was #12. Had a strong arm as a lefty, but clearly Penn was in desperation mode trying to get some offense going having him at QB. Maybe he's had an entire summer to prepare but I'll be surprised if Penn is anywhere near a playoff spot this year.

Speaking of St Marks I am hearing they have more football kids transferring out. What is going on there?

It’s a shame because I think DE needs another parochial school to counter and rival Sallies. That rivalry was great IMO.

I agree but things changed dramatically when there was a downward spiral in enrollment for Sparty. Once they went to D2 the game lost its luster and possibly its competitiveness.

Bummy, are you saying the enrollment demise at St Marks was due to Sparty attending? If you are I may be in agreement with you! Word on the street is that Spartakos and his girl basin Betty where nothing but trouble, just saying of course

You read me correctly, Rider. I have heard that Spartakos' girl Betty was actually the homecoming queen in her senior year. This factor alone may have caused a male enrollment meltdown.

I wish SMH the best. Is there room for both them and St. Lizzies in NC County? Maybe Spartakos can give us some intel !!!

What kids are transferring out of Spartyville besides McCarthy?

Don’t know names just that they lost some kids how many don’t know. Could just be one for all I know. I know one went to Caravel but don’t know his name

Oh yeah! I read that wrong!

I thought you were talking about a transfer from Caravel cause that would have been news to me.
