Anyone paying attention to the girls so far? Looks like we've got a lot of interesting teams and records heading into the post-Christmas break season. McKean/Woodbridge/STMA are undefeated (basically because of substandard schedules) and Sanford/Conrad/Ursuline's records aren't an indicator of their talent.

What will happen to teams that had AI on the schedule? Will they try to pick up a game to replace them?

Share your thoughts, folks.

Couple of interesting results the last two days.

Woodbridge stays unbeaten with their first win over a decent team (St. Georges) and Howard defeated Ursuline earlier tonight. Granted it's not the same Ursuline, but Howard needed that win with St. E, Archmere and Caravel still on the schedule.

Conrad won the state championship rematch 58-50 last night. Not sure what Caravel has to do to get over the hump, but it has to be super frustrating.

Hodgson beat St. Georges on Thursday, so the last two unbeatens in Flight A are Hodgson and Delcastle, of course 10 years to the winter that their coach Jaquetta May took them to the state title.

We've got exactly 1 month of regular season left starting this week, so here are some guesses as to who will make the state tournament.

Flight A:
Hodgson (in)
Delcastle (in)
St. Georges (in)
Middletown (has a chance)

Flight B:

Howard (in)
McKean (in)
Mt. Pleasant (has a chance)
Christiana (has a chance)

Diamond State:

Conrad (in)
Archmere (in)
Wilmington Charter (likely in)

Independent

Sanford (in)
Wilmington Christian (in)
Friends (likely in)
Tower Hill (has a chance)
Tatnall (likely in)

Catholic/Non-Conference

Padua (in)
Ursuline (likely in)
St. E (in)
Caravel (in)
St. Thomas More (in)
Delmarva Christian (has a chance)
St. Mark's (likely in)

Henlopen North

Cape (in)
Sussex Tech (in)
Sussex Central (in)
Polytech (likely in)

Henlopen South
Woodbridge (in)
Lake Forest (in)
Delmar (has a chance)
Seaford (has a chance)

Woodbridge made the long bus ride onto Broom Street and knocked off Padua to remain Delaware's last unbeaten team at 13-0. 3 teams stand between them and a perfect regular season (Lake Forest, Central and Tech)

McKean of course lost to Mt. Pleasant and Ursuline broke a 3-game losing streak with a blowout win over St. Mark's.

StE with big win over Caravel last night. Only two losses and both were to out of state competition. Will see how good they are when they play Conrad.

Beating Caravel didn't solidify anything? Caravel was considered a contender, correct?

Hey when it comes to girls b-ball in state there are usually only two team races. With four teams trying to get it. Sanford being one but they have such a weak schedule due to Indy conference and as of late Conrad. UA is no longer a threat, Padua isn’t there yet, Caravel is always the brides maid never the bride and StE who is putting a nice season behind them now. Beat Conrad and I’ll praise more.

I think that does Caravel a slight injustice. This a very talented team Coach Caldwell has, to beat them should be celebrated just a bit.

Caravel lost to New Hope Academy today and St. E defeated St. Thomas More. Vikings inching closer to the top seed in the tournament, which means at least 1 game in their gym. Like their odds of getting to at least the semis.

Howard rolled over Archmere yesterday in a game that likely keeps Howard in the convo for a bye and hurts Archmere's tournament chances.

McKean lost to Brandywine which means McKean could finish 15-5 and likely miss the state tournament (gotta schedule tougher) and Ursuline dropped a close one to the Pennington School, but since TPS has a greater than .701 winning percentage, it's worth 2 more points for UA.
