Where are you finding this out?

I was really hoping you would give Kevin Bowen the respect that he deserves. It’s a crying shame. What more evidence do I need to give you. Also Hawkins at 220 should be ranked a little better than he is.

Does anyone know what happened to the 220 from Sallies last year? I thought he was a freshman.
Hawkins lost to diaz at battle at beach

Hey idiots rankings do not matter. If your kid is good it will show at states. Until then just be happy 302 gives us so much coverage with wrestling
Rankings are one of the most important aspects of the sport. Flo AWN Intermat NWCA openmat are just a few that take it very seriously. 302 is doing a great job. But we are allowed to question it. This isnt a socialist country yet....

ABOUT WRESTLING MINDSET
Wrestling Mindset was developed by Gene and Jeff Zannetti to help wrestlers reach their full potential in wrestling, school and life. As former nationally ranked All-Ivy League wrestlers, they know the importance of rising to the occasion on the mat & in the classroom.

Um. He lists in his bio as an accolade he was ranked. Anyone who claims rankings aren't important is a weirdo

The rankings are great. I always enjoy looking at them. Sometimes kids get on here and try and stir shit up to get their names tossed in the ring or to rattle some cages. No harm in that, simply keep scrolling if you don’t wish to engage on the conversation. I personally enjoy a good conversation/debate about talent level and such. I find this entire thread as entertaining as a jerry springer episode.

My favorite is when they stir it up and get smacked down then go split personality. A classic game theory maneuver on DEpreps

I guess I missed the part where he says they aren’t important. I heard him say don’t focus on them, big difference. I think rankings are good but there are certain people on here that are WAY to focused on them.

Seriously , was he climbing out of a canoe? JP Stevens guys were always clowns lol

not a fan of wrestling mindset however I do know that a few of our wrestlers in delaware have been associated with them and from what their parents have said in the past, it helped them overcome that last hurdle. 2 of the wrestlers that I saw constantly wearing their tshirts and gear were dante immediato and I think chase archangelo. I believe others were involved as well, possibly andrew brooks and a few more of the boys from the same schools. cliff bakish is also a supporter of wrestling mindset. I believe some kids need that mind booster that pushes them past their sticking point so they can overcome and then there are others that it has zero affect on.

There is something about the accent and the theatrics that pisses me off. Not sure ,can't put my finger on it. Of course it could be I'm a d!ck is the issue lol

Ok so I watched the little video of the guy climbing out of the canoe and I have to say I agree with him. To many kids look at the rankings and say oh hes #1 i cant beat him then they go out and dont leave it all on the mat. Wrestler the wrestler not the name or seed!!!! Its great that 302 takes the time to do the rankings it's great for the sport but to many people get caught up in it and catch baby feelings about it if their kid isnt where they think their kid should be. In my mind it only matters where your kid is come February.

Don't you find it ironic that a clown who claims rankings and social media are not something to focus on, makes all his announcements on social media and the second sentence in the about page is about his personal ranking?

Anybody knows what's going on with laurels 182 pounder from last year. He was tough. Def would be rank #2

2018 Battle at the Beach results:
106
Yep but I'm talking on a personal level. I tell my son to pay no attention to the rankings or the hype. I tell him to go out wrestle his match, impose his will and to wrestle the wrestler not the name or the seed the kid might be.

a good friend of mine once told me (when his son was wrestling at 9) that he never let him look at the wrestlers name, he only would tell him the bout number. I passed this on to my relatives when their children started wrestling. to this day that 9 year old boy (who is now 17) only looks at bout numbers and is ranked #1 in his state... he will go far

You have friends? Would never guess

Come on man no reason to be a fool.
In high school a teammate of mine had a long standing dispute with the ranker who was like the beat reporter. He was ranked like 8 or 9 in state all year and it drove him and his dad bananas. This was a crazy tough family and they never could let it go. In the tournament he beat the number 1 guy . His father had cut the rankings out of paper, glued to a plate and after finals gave to reporter with a fork and knife to eat his words. They had obviously planned it for awhile and the ranker actually laughed and made a joke of in in the recap. The 80s were a different time lol. Two sides of the spectrum and whatever gets you there !

Never much cared for wrestling mindset but to those it helped good for them. However, I don’t think throwing kids names out there as participants with that program is appropriate. I know Archangelo didn’t bother with that program. I have known him a long time. May have had a T-shirt of theirs but all wrestlers will wear anything given to them. That kid didn’t need someone telling him how to think. Overthinking things can result in issues on the mat. Rankings are great to have for everyone as long as the wrestlers look at it as what it is. Let it spur them on to work harder.

Will do. I'm surprised how good notre dame got. They placed 3rd. Bethlehem catholic used to get all those kids. Let me know if we find out what happened with smyrna or it was a scheduling thing or whatever. Thanks

Pa is damm tough. They have the most college AAs regularly for a reason lol. I think its a numbers game. More kids at every level, more schools, more coaches , lots of tradition. NJ has so many high schools its ridiculous and only one state champ. Creates an escalating arms race of people trying to devote their lives and resources to a state title .
