5-8-19 Baseball

Matt Warrington threw 7 innings with 13 k's to get the 3-2 win on the mound for Tech. Sussex Tech took the lead in the 6th on 2 throwing errors to go up 2-0. Cape responded in the 7th inning plating 2 started by a leadoff single by Jackson Ostroski. Ethan Ward hit a homerun in the top of the 9th to put Sussex Tech up 3-2. Mason Fluharty threw 6 2/3 solid innings with 8 k's for the Vikings.

Liam Hudgings (1-1) combined with Cole Opderbeck for the one-hit, shut-out 11-0 Friends win over Dickinson. Matt Taormina drove in 3 on two hits including a double. Wyatt Nelson and Peter Erskine also had two hits apiece for the Quakers, and Will Davis added a triple. Garvin the recorded the lone Rams hit.

Nick Welch led Concord over Newark 3-0 , pitching a complete game 1-hitter with 8 strikeouts. Cade Pfander led the Raider offense with two hits. Tyler Bedford had a hit for Newark.

A Slade pitched a complete game shut out for Buena scattering 3 hits to earn the 1-0 win. Caravel’s Tommy Tracey pitched a strong game as well allowing 1 hit with 4 strikeouts and 0 ER. Jakob Hoffman, Cole Reynolds, and Adam Slavin each had hits for the Bucs. J DelValle had a double for Buena.
 
Baseball 5-9-19

Michael Pagliei drove in four runs, with two double's and a fielders choice. Aidan Lambert also had two doubles, along with Nick Barton and Justin Ford addding one each to pace Brandywine to a 13-3 win over the Hornets of Tatnall. John Brooks had two doubles and Cameron Mills also doubled for Tatnall.
Concord defeated Charter 6-4 behind three hit games by Mark Cruser and Luke Gabrysh. Mark Cruser had three RBI's and Brian Downey had two RBI's for the Raiders. Ryan Baker had two hits and two RBI's for CSW.
Dover's Andrew Carney pitched 5 scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts to pickup the 1-0 conference win over Milford. Dominic Velazquez also pitched 2 scoreless innings for the save for the Senators. Nathan Turner was 1 for 2 with a SAC FLY RBI in the 5th inning. Milford's Chad Reichold pitched 6 strong innings with 3 strikeouts.
The Silver Eagles pick up their 6th consecutive win on Senior Day. Senior Captain Michael Deery picks up the win tossing 6 innings, allowing only 1 hit, 0 earned runs, 5 walks, and talling 6 strikeouts for the Silver Eagles of Hodgson as they defeated the Tigers of AI DuPont 10-2. Deery also went 2-2 with 3 runs scored and an RBI. The Silver Eagles offense was lead by senior Kyle Riley going 3-4 with a 2 RBI double. Shawn Haut went 2-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Haut has reached base safely in 16 consecutive games. Logan Evans reached base safely three times for the Tigers.

James Wade 3-3 allowed one hit while striking out 8 to lead Delcastle over McKean 16-1. Omar Rivera doubled and drove in 2 for the Cougars. Kevin Ramos doubled for the Highlanders.
Tyler Reinert led Conrad to a 4-1 Victory on the mound allowing four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight batters. Brenden Haywood went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Conrad in hits. Garret Hillsgrove took the loss for Mount Pleasant. He went five innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out four.

David Preziuso and Cole Reynolds led the Caravel offense with 3 hits, 2 runs scroed and 1 rbi each as they defeated Newark 12-1. Ethan DeRegis added 2 hits and 3 rbi. Alex Lindstrom and Cody Malcom had a hit and 2 rbi each. Philip Bovankovich had a hit and rbi for Newark.
Jacob Dunion went 3 for 3 including 2 homeruns and 5 RBIs for Salesianum as they defeated Archmere 8-1. Samuel DelCollo went 2 for 2 with a triple and 2 runs scored. Salesianum's starting pitcher, Reece Bolton, pitched 6 complete innings allowing only 4 hits and 1 run while striking out 9. Archmere Academy's Mike Dellose reached base on all three plate appearances going 2 for 2 including an RBI single.

Tobias Coker got the win on the mound for Sanford, giving up 3 hits and 3 runs, striking out 4. Dylan Smallwood had 2 hits. Henry Nolte had 2 hits, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI's as the Sanford Warriors defeated MOT 9-7. Debendictis had 3 hits for MOT.

Wade Brooks picked up the 8-1 complete game win allowing only 2 hits and 1 unearned run. Jaden Rivera and Byron Freeland lead the offense with 2 rbis each. Jeremy Netsch pitched well for Smyrna striking out 4 in the complete game.

: Nick Lilley pitched 6 innings after having to replace George Windels who was hit by a line drive on his throwing hand as St. Andrews defeated Seaford 9-7. Jack Lauer finished the game with a save. Goodwin had two hits for Seaford. Nick Lilley had three hits for St. Andrew's
Wm Penn came away with an extra inning win in a hard faught 5-2 game against St. Elizabeth's. Both starting pitchers had strong performances with CJ Wilkerson tossing 6 innings giving up 1 earned run and striking out 7. St. Elizabeth's Hayden Trimarco went 5 innings giving up 2 unearned runs and striking out 6.

The Colonials worked out of a bases loaded 1 out situation in the bottom of the 7th inning before taking the lead in the top of the 7th. Matt Hammond got the big hit for the Colonials driving in two runs. Zach Pritchard had 3 hits while 4 other Colonials added 2 hits a piece (North, Wilkerson, Hammond, Grygo)
St. Elizabeths Nathan Beringer had 3 hits and an RBI for the Vikings.

Tech's Noah Covington picked up the 15-1 conference win, allowing 2 hits and collecting 6Ks. Sussex tech was led offensively by Matt Warrington(2-2, 2R, 2RBI), Jason Shockley (HR, 3RBI) Jalen Snead(2-3, 2RBI, 2R), Bobby Locklear (1R, 4RBI). Delmar's Dylan Pasta and Luke Waters both had hits for the Wildcats.

Austin Biddle carried the Panthers to a 3 hit 6-0 shutout victory with 6.1 innings of work. Dylan Gros and Brent Buckson both tripled for Polytech, while Dalton Perdue doubled for Laurel.

Michael Briggs singled in the game winning runs in the top of the 9th for Delmarva Christian - plating Chase Hesson and Ben Hobbs and won 11-9. Kulota connected for three hits in the game for Salisbury Christian. Riley Culver tossed 6 innings to win the game for the Royals.
 
5-10-19 Baseball News

Eddie Joyce, Jackson Ostroski, Grant Evans, and Matt Newcomb all had 2 hits each to lead Cape to an 18-2 win over the Blue Jays of Seaford. Cape hitters pounded out 14 hits to get the win. Parker Brown and Mason Carrow combined for a 3 hitter for the Vikings. Dylan Nibblett was 1 for 2 with a double and a run scored for Seaford.

Ben Anderson’s 3 run homerun in top of the seventh put the Spartans in front 9-7 over the Cavaliers of Middletown. Matt Sinko contributed three hits in the win. Mitchell Jolikko, Devin McClendon, and Alex Reedy all had 2 hits for the Cavaliers.

Wyatt Nelson (3-0, 0.00 ERA) pitched a complete game 1-hitter, striking out 13 to pace the Quakers of Friends to a 2-0 win over the Warriors of Sanford. Eddie Micheletti plated the two Friends runs on a double in the third. Will Davis added two hits for the Quakers. Logan Jacobs pitched a complete game for the Warriors holding the Quakers to four hits.

Indian River came out on top after a back and forth affair Friday night. In a 13-13 game Firle walked to lead off the inning and Chase Hall would eventually Drive him home with a sacrifice fly in the top of the 7th to put the Indians up 14-13 for good. Hall also received the win on the mound. The Indians were led by River Vickers offensively going 3-3 while JJ Killen collected 2 hits including a 3 run homer. Sussex Central collected 19 hits on the day. Javon Toppin, Tarryl Sturgis, Ethan Watkinson, Kyle Briggs, Cade Keeler and Cam Keeler all had 2 hits while Logan Hellans was 3-4 and Chase Boyle went 4-5 for the Knights.

Appo was able to get ahead early on an RBI single by Lorenzo Carrier. Krew Bouldin added the second run for Appo on a sacrifice fly in the 5th inning as they defeated the Seahawks of Delaware Military Academy 2-0. Joey Davis earned his 7th win of the season throwing a complete game shutout behind 4 hits and 9 K's. Tyler, Smith, Fedorkowicz, and McCloskey each had 1 hit for DMA. Colin Smith tossed 6 solid innings for DMA.

Brett Callahan pitched a 2 hit complete game shutout w 9k's, he also went 2-3 w a triple and run scored. Newark Charter scored on a John Ueltzhoffer homerun and a SAC fly by Brett Lesher as Newark Charter won 2-0 over the Panthers of Polytech. Dylan Gros was solid on the mound going 6 innnings w 7k's and 2 earned runs on 4 hits. Biddle and Frazier had a hit for Polytech.
 
5-11-19 Baseball

Brandywine's offense came to life in the bottom of the sixth inning scoring four runs to take the lead for good at 7-4. Three Bulldogs's had mult-hit game, Gavin Lambert, Calvin Donohue and Patrick Campbell including a RBI double. Christian Strickland went 3-for-4 at the plate for Saint Elizabeth.
Gavin Lambert got the win in relief.

Pat Crawford picked up his 4th win of the season while striking out 6 batters. Colin Smith and Jackson Tyer both homered for the Seahawks. Wyatt Inman drove in 4 runs for DMA as they defeated Glasgow 12-2. GHS-Jetzel Garcia had a double and a solo homerun for the Dragons.

FSMA got on the board in the first plating a single run. Mount was able to tie the game in the 4th. A single by Rosado in the 7th for FSMA scored Smith from second for the final run as they won 2-1 over Mount Pleasant. Jenkins for FSMA had 8 strikeout in 3.2 innings. Jump for Mount had 9 of his own in 6 strong innings

Derek Pusey hit a HR and Bryce Sterling struck out 7 to lead Red Lion to a 5-2 conference win over Wilmington Charter. Austin Prior was 2-2 with 2 runs scored and an RBI for Red Lion. Ryan Baker went 2-3 with an RBI to lead Charter’s offense.

In a pitchers duel, Brandon Hatch threw a complete game shutout for the Riders scattering 5 hits in this 2-0 conference victory. Hatch improved his record on the mound to 5-0 on the season. Jason Killen and Kristopher Medford both pitched well for the Indians allowing no earned runs over 6 innings of work.

Christian Colmery pitched four scoreless innings allowing only 3 hits. Eric Ludman, JJ Psensicka, Ricky Gannett, Matt Phillips and Matt Sinko all had multiple hits for the Spartans as they won by a 26-1 win over the Woodbridge Blue Raiders. Brock Keeler contributed 2 hits for the Raiders.
 
5-14-19 Baseball News

Jakob Hoffman, Cole Reynolds and Adam Slavin had 2 hits a piece for the Bucs. Hoffman also had 2 rbi. Kevin Keister had a hit and knocked in 2 runs, David Preziuso knocked in 2 runs on sac flys and Dan Marcon had a hit and rbi as Caravel defeated Conrad by a 7-3 score. Conrad's Brenden Haywood had 2 hits. Kyle Walker had a hit a 2 runs scored and Michael Spadea had a hit and rbi for the Red Wolves.

On WFS Sr. Day, sr. Joey Mullen struck out eight Tatnall batters in a complete, 5-inning game to pick up his 6th win of the season (6-1) and sr. Michael McKenzie went 2-3 with three RBI. Cole Opderbeck also had three RBI for the Quakers as they defeated Tatnall 11-1. Four Friends batters hit doubles: Will Davis, Jack Taylor, C. Opderbeck, and Patrick McKenzie. For Tatnall, both Brody Clayton and John Brooks had two hits including a double for Clayton.

A game winning double by Gabe Dermott in the 9th inning was the difference in a close 7-4 game won by Appoquinimink. Mason Keene threw 6 innings of strong baseball earning him the no decision. Lorenzo Carrier got things started in the first inning with a 2-run home run, then added 2 more hits on the day including a double. Krew Bouldin and Joey Davis also provided 2 hits for Appo. Joey Davis came on in the 8th inning and tossed 2 innings of scoreless baseball to earn his 8th win. CJ Deery had 3 hits including a double for Hodgson.

Cameron Beulah picked up the complete game win striking out 4. Beulah also had two hits on the day including a double. Jaden Rivera and Quinton Maris contributed rbis for Lake as they defeated Woodbridge 5-2. For Woodbridge, Seth Smart pitched 6 strong innings and Charles Little had two hits.

Brett Lesher came in to get the win in 4 scoreless innings of relief and Trey Matthews got the save pitching 2 scoreless innings w 4k's. Brett Callahan led the offense going 3-4 w two triples 3 runs scored and 2 rbi's, Brett Lesher was 2-3 a double and rbi, John Ueltzhoffer hit a 2 run homer and Dylan Kutch had 2 hits w a run scored for Newark Charter's 8-3 win.
Layne Bell had two hits for Smyrna.

Cam Walsen earned his 1st varsity win in relief. Caden Stanley, Mason Morris, and Jaxson Turner all had multiple hits. Layton and Shawn Saxon each had 2 rbi for the Milford Bucs as they defeated the Seaford Blue Jays 10-4. Zach Adams had 2 hits and Kenny Goodwin had 2 rbi for Seaford.

The Vikings broke open a scoreless game in the 4th, Lucas Johnson pitched 1 hit ball through the 6th, and Cape never looked back in the 9-0 victory at Delmar.

Going into sixth inning Concord had executed their offensive approach well and had a 4-1 lead, Joey Jourdan changed that with a double that cleared the bases and tied the game. Aidan RIley then won it for the Hawks with a walk off home run in the bottom of seventh and won 5-4. Nate McVey picked up the win pitching well over two innings in relief Myles Eaddy and Mark Cruser had multiple hits each for Concord.

Baseball

Ryan Nelson scattered 5 hits in tossing a complete game, and Dylan Pasta led the offense with 3 hits in 4 at bats.

Delmarva Christian lead the way offensively behind a 3 hit performance by Connor Lewis. Michael Briggs, Connor Lewis, Riley Culver, and Andrew Workman all doubled; while Joe Jones tripled for the Royals as they defeated Laurel 10-5. Laurel fought hard with 10 hits, including 3 hit performances by Dalton Perdue and Holden Deihm, while Jaden Snyder collected two of his own. But it was not enough as the combined effort on the mound by Brandon Schlabach and Andrew Workman kept the Royals ahead for most of the day.

Michael Pagliei led Brandywine's to a 10-6 victory with four RBI's, three came on a first inning HR over Glasgow. Michael added another on a sac-fly in the second. Gabe Brandt and Justin Ford doubled.
Dante Claudio went 3 for 4 including a triple also Avery Adams tripled for the Dragons.

David Keane pitched 5 innings of shutout baseball striking out 10 to get the 16-0 win for the Cavs. The offense was paced by 2 hit 2 RBI days from Zak Sophy and Blake Harbert.

Sam Devard had 3 hits and 5 RBIs to lead CSW's offense to a 12-1 win over First State Military Academy. Christopher Connelly had 3 hits including 2 doubles for First State Military Academy.

Justin Jump picked up the 3=1 win in relief, striking out 3 in the final two innings. Garrett Hillsgrove started for Mount going five innings, allowing two hits and an unearned run. Mount’s Nick Harkins lead off the sixth inning with a double, then Justin Jump tied the game with an RBI double. Garrett Hillsgrove and Abe Burr each followed with RBI singles. AI’s Dominic Pasquarella singled and scored a run.

In the bottom of the 6th with Dover leading 3-1, Sussex Tech's Jordan Harper hit a 2 run HR to tie the game at 3. Dover capitalized in the top of the 8th, scoring 3 runs on one error and singles from Hiram Davis and Dominic Velazquez and a 2RBI double from Mike Carrington. Tech responded in the bottom of the 8th, tying the game at 6 each, off of 2 errors, a pass ball, and a 2RBI single from Bobby Locklear. In the top of the 9th, Dover took the lead for good with 3 runs by winning 9-6, capitilizing off of a Tech error, a RBI single by Turner, SAC fly by Alec Rodreiguez and RBI double form Carrington.

For Tech, Jason Shockley, Braydan Graham, and Jalen Snead each finished with 2 hits. Jordan Harper and Bobby Locklear finished the day with 1 hit and 2RBI each. Matt Warrington pitched 6.2 strong innings, allowing only 1 hit with 2ER and 6K's.

Senior Xander Emberger hit a home run and pitched a complete 5 inning game to lead Red Lion over Tower Hill 14-1 on Senior Day. Seniors Craig McAllister (2-4, 2RBI) and Nate Hardcastle (1-2, 1 RBI, 1 Run) were also recognized. Michael Gilbert was 1-3 with a double and a run scored for Tower Hill

The Hawks offense was led by Tyler Hogan's three hits and RBI, Noah Finocchiaro's two hits and RBI, and Joey Rinarelli's three RBIs as St. Georges defeated Newark 9-2. Darren Tyson and Jaden Barton each doubled for Newark.

Pitchers Jonathan Hines and Pat Crawford combined on a no hitter for the Seahawks of Delaware Military Academy as they defeated Smyrna 11-0. Colin Smith and Jackson Tyer both had two hits.

Salesianum's Jake Dunion went 3 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBIs as they defeated the Vikings of St. Elizabeth 12-2. Brendan Pacheco went 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBIs. Dylan Rees went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBIs. Jaden Dickerson and Christian Strickland each had a base hit and RBI for St. Elizabeth's.

In a well played game, Caravel's Cole Reynolds hit a rbi single to score Kevin Keister for the walkoff 3-2 win in the bottom of the 7th. Ethan DeRegis had a rbi double and scored a run in the bottom of the 6th to put CA up. Dover came back to tie the game in the top of the 7th on a passed ball. Keister pitched 6 2/3 strong innings allowing 2 hits and 2 runs with 6 strikeouts. Reynolds finished the day with 2 hits and 2 rbi. AJ Nardo also had 2 hits for the Bucs.

Dover's Dominic Velazquez had a hit and knocked in a run for Dover in the top of the 4th inning. Christopher Dabney also had a hit for the Senators.

Jake Fallers broke open a 4-4 game with and RBI double in the bottom of the 5th. Anthony Mallamaci (3-4) and Jack Nielsen (2-3) each drove in 2 runs for the Auks and won 10-6. Jack Walker was 3-4, scoring 2 runs while Brent Buckson was 2-3 driving in 3 runs for Poly.

Dan Kennan earned the win on the mound by throwing a complete game 1-hitter with 12 strikeouts. Sam Devard led the Charter offense with 2 hits including a 3-run home run in the first inning and won 4-0 Dylan Craig added 2 hits for the Force and Logan Evans had a hit for AI.

Wyatt Nelson (4-0, 0.00) pitched a six-inning no-hitter on 76 pitches striking out 10 and surrendering just one walk for the Quakers of Friends as they defeated the Bulldogs of Brandywine 12-0. Eddie Micheletti had two hits including a two-RBI triple and Peter Erskine went 3-4 with a triple and three RBI. Matt Taormina and Will Davis both had multi-hit games for the Quakers.

Dante Claudio and Zuri Dublin each collected two hits for Glasgow as they defeated the Cougars of Delcastle 8-1. Jetzel Garcia was the winning pitcher, throwing four innings without allowing a hit. Cris Ortega picked up the save in his first appearance of the season.

James Wade had the lone hit for Delcastle.

Concord defeated St. Elizabeth's 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth inning on a bases loaded hit by pitch. St. E's starter, Hayden Trimarco pitched 6.1-innings with four stikeouts. Concord's Nick Welch threw 6-innings with six strikeouts. Concord's offense was led by multiple hits from Mark Cruser, Steve Cornog, Brian Downey and Myles Eaddy. St. E's offense was led by Christian Strickland's two hits.

Kyle Firle lead the Indians to a 10-0 victory. Firle was 2-2 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored. JJ Killen pitched 5.1 innings allowing 2 hits and striking out 7. Killen also added 3 hits as well. Foxwell and Meehan had two hits each for the Indians. Deihm and Collins added hits for the Bulldogs.

Zak Sophy earned the 8-2 win on the mound for the Cavs pitching 5 innings with 7 K's. The offense for Middletown was paced by Mithcell Jolikko's 3-4 day with 2 doubles and an RBI.

Adam Schiff picked up his first career varsity win giving up just 1 hit and striking out 5. Nathan McGray tripled and had two rbis while Gabe Martin added two hits and an rbi to lead the offense. The Lake offense was helped by 10 walks and 9 stolen bases on the day as they defeated MOT Charter 11-2. Salomon Devard had a 2 run single for MOT Charter.

With the score tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the 5th, Dominic Regazzo and Dylan Rees led off the inning with back to back singles to pace Salesianum to a 7-4 win over Sussex Tech. Jacob Dunion followed with a 2 RBI double to put Salesianum in the lead. Later in that same inning, Matt Querey came to bat with bases loaded and hit a line drive to left field for 2 RBIs. Dylan Rees went 3 for 4 scoring 2 runs. Braydan Graham went 4 for 4 with 2 RBIs for Sussex Tech.

Dylan Grygo singled in Matt Hammond in the bottom of the 5th inning to give the Colonials a 3-2 lead. William Penn would add one more in the inning. CJ Wilkerson stretched the lead to 6-2 in the bottom of the 6th inning with a 2 run HR. Grygo led the Colonial offense reaching base 4 times with two walks and two hits.
Dwayne Graham had three hits on the day for the riders and Avon Jones had 2 doubles.

J. Davis and Aidan Deakins combine to throw a no hitter for appo behind 15 K's as they defeated Woodbridge 8-1. Deakins earns his 3rd win of the season. J. Davis had 3 hits including a doube, Carrier had 2 hits including a triple, and Dermott also had 2 hits. Rust and Slater reached base twice for Woodbridge with Slater scoring a run as well.

:Chad Reichhold struck out 7 over 6 innings to earn the 10-0 victory. Brock Hilligoss was 4-4 with 3 rbi. Mason Morris had 2 hits, while Shawn Saxon scored 3 times. Jason Roux had a double and Dakota Crowley and Jack Zungailia added hits for the Hillers.

5-17-19

Brett Callahan got the win w 7k's and went 2-2. Brett Lesher was 3-3, John Uletzhoffer was 2-3 and Hayden Harach was 2-2 to lead the offense to a 24-1 win over MOT Charter.
Solomon Devard tripled for MOT.

Brandon Anderson hit a 2 run home run in the bottom of the 4th to break a scoreless tie and give Red Lion the lead 5-1 for good. Nate Hardcastle drove in a run with a double to extend the lead. Bryce Sterling and Derek Pusey each struck out 6 to hold Lake Forest to 1 run. Wade Brooks struck out 7, going the distance for Lake Forest. Adam Schiff went 1 for 2 with a double for Lake Forest.

Parker Brown came in relief throwing 5 1/3 innings allowing 1 earned run to get the 10-8 win for the Vikings. Grant Evans hit a grand slam in the 5th that put the Vikings ahead for good. Mason Fluharty was 2 for 4 with a homerun to lead the offense for Cape. Billy Phillips led the Spartans offense going 3 for 4 with 3 RBI's.

Jack Valentine struck out 10 and gave up one hit for Sanford on the mound as they defeated the Rams of Dickinson 18-0. Valentine, Brian Keiser, Colton Ferguson, and Jonathan Fritz all had multi-hit games for Sanford. Duncan Pike hit a double for Dickinson.
 
5-18-19 Baseball

DMA pitcher Jonathan Hines pitched a complete game shutout with 5 strikeouts along with a 7-0 win over Dover. Jackson Tyer reached base 3 times with 3 runs scored for DMA. Dover's Andrew Carney and Nathan Turner each had 2 hits for Dover.

Conrad took the lead late to defeat St. Georges Tech 4-1. Braedon Scherer got the win for Conrad allowing just one hit and 0 runs, striking out three and walking zero over two innings. Tyler Reinert starting the game on the mound for Conrad allowing two hits,striking out five and walking one over five innings. Kyle Walker, Max Awtry and Brenden Haywood all had multiple hits for Conrad with Haywood leading the offense with three hits and driving in two runs. Noah Finocchiaro pitched five and one third innings for St Georges allowing one run with two walks and five strike outs while Adian Riley took the loss for St Georges.

Brock Hilligoss scattered 3 hits over 5 innings to earn the Milford 10-2 victory over Archmere.
Jack Nielson opened the scoring, driving in Anthony Mallamaci to take a 1-0 lead. Mason Morris doubled in Caden Stanley to tie the game at 1. Jaxson Turner singled, driving in 2 to make the game 3-1. Morris added a 3 run home run in the 4th. Morris had 3 hits and drove in 4. Mason Haggerty also had a rbi single for the Bucs. Nielson struck out 6 for the Auks. Anthony Mallamaci ended the day with 2 hits for the Auks.

Trey Matthews pitched a no hitter with 14k's for the complete game shut out. Brett Callahan was 3-5, John Ueltzhoffer 2-3 and David Hawtof 2-3 w 2rbi's to lead the offense in the 11-0 win over Newark.

Ryan Insley went 5 innings striking out 13 for the Colonials as they defeated Woodbridge 9-0. William Penn offense was led by Mark Kelly who was 3 for 3 on the day scoring two runs and driving in another. Logan Davis also had two hits for the Colonials.
Brock Keeler, Derek Cannon, and Michael Mangan had hits for Woodbridge.

Nick Lilley pitched 5 shutout inning giving up a hit to Mills and Jack Lauer pitched a shutout 6th. Christo Butner and Nick Lilley had two hits apiece for the Cardinals as they defeated the Hornets of Tatnall 8-2.

Sam Devard led the Charter offense with 2 hits, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored for the Force of Charter as they defeated the Hillers of Tower Hill 11-0. Alex Zhu had 2 hits and earned the win on the mound by striking out 3 batters in 5 scoreless innings. Dan Kennan had a hit and 3 RBIs for the Force and Chad Lopes had 2 hits for the Hillers.

FSMA stormed out to a 4-0 lead and eventually leading 7-3 going into the 7th before MOT Charter was able to plate 5 runs in the 7th once Smith for FSMA reached his pitch limit. FSMA scores on in the bottom of the 7th to force extra innings. Gaston for FSMA was able to score on a bunt from Rosado to win it for FSMA 9-8. Smith had 7 strikeouts in 6.1 innings allowing only 3 runs on 3 hits. Andrew Smith for MOT had an impressive 13 strikeouts in 5.2 innings. Jenkins for FSMA had 3 singles (3-4) with D. Smith and Connley each hitting 2 singles. Thomas for MOT drew 3 walks in 4 plate appearances.
 
5-23-19 DIAA First Round Games

Cape was led by Jackson Ostroski with 2 doubles and 4 RBI's. Mason Fluharty threw 5 strong innings with 7 k's to get the 10-0 win on the mound while going 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI. Dwayne Graham had a double for the Riders.

Matt Rodriguez & Caden Parker scattered 5 hits during the 2 day suspended game. Dylan Rodriguez had 3 hits including a triple to go with 2 hits each for Luke Waters & Gabe Rincon for the Wildcats of Delmar as they defeated the Conrad Redwolves 6-1; Kyle Walker & Max Awtry doubled for Conrad.

Delmarva Christian Royals took Thursday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 7-6 walk-off victory over Tower Hill. The game was tied at six with Delmarva Christian Royals Varsity batting in the bottom of the seventh when Chase Hesson singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Delmarva Christian earned the victory despite allowing Tower Hill to score six runs in the third inning. Kenyon Motley, Mike Gilbert, Sander Margolin, and John Gray all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

William Penn was able to pull off some late game heroics to come away with a 3-2 victory.
The Colonials started off the bottom of the 7th down 2-1. Zach Pritchard was able to draw a 1 out walk. Matt Hammond reached base on a fielders choice. CJ Wilkerson tied the game at 2 with an RBI double before Dylan Grygo was able to walk it off with a sacrifice fly.
CJ Wilkerson led the offense for the colonials reaching base all 4 times with 3 hits and a walk. Matt Hammond, Logan Davis, and Mark Kelly all added 2 hits for William Penn.
Gavin Lambert pitched a great game for Brandywine going 6 1/3 while scattering 8 hits. He also added 3 hits for the Brandywine offense.

5-24-19

Concord came back from a 5-0 deficit to defeat AI DuPont 6-5 on a walk off double by Steve Cornog in the bottom of the seventh inning. AI DuPont went up 5-0 through the top of the fourth inning. Concord cut the lead to 5-2 after a 2-run HR by Johnny Ford in the bottom of the fourth inning. Ford's SAC fly in the bottom of the sixth inning made it 5-3. Concord led the seventh inning off with back to back singles by Adam Tommer and Andy Raab. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch and were driven in on a two run single by Myles Eaddy to tie the game at 5-5. Steve Cornog's double scored Eaddy from first to win the game. AI Dupont was led by a very strong pitching performance by Joe Orsini. Orsini struck out five batters. Orsini was also 4-4 at the plate with a RBI. Maxwell Johnson added two hits for the Tigers. Brian Downey picked up the win by holding AI to zero runs for the final three innings. Adam Tommer led the Raiders with three hits. Myles Eaddy and Steve Cornog each had two hits for Concord.

The St. Georges Hawks defeated Red Lion 9-6 in first round action Friday. The Hawks were paced offensively by McVey's three run homerun in the second inning and Finocchiaro's two run homerun in the third. The Hawks had great baserunning, stealing six bases and collecting multplie, clutch two out hits. Aidan Riley picked up the win competing for five strong innings.Nate Hardcastle homered twice and collected four RBIs for Red LIon.
 
Quarter Final Recaps of the 2019 DIAA State High School Baseball Tournament

5-28-19

Cape's Mason Fluharty pitched 6 innings with 6 strikeouts to pick up the DIAA playoff 3-1 win over Dover. Robert Baxley hit a 2 out 2 RBI double in the 1st inning to put Cape ahead for the game. Grant Evans was 2 for 3 to lead the Cape offense. Dover's Nathan Turner was 3 for 4 for the Senators.

DMA got their offense started in the 1st with a rbi sac fly by Mike Fedorkowicz. The Bucs came back to tie it in the bottom of the third inning on a rbi single by Cole Reynolds. Caravel took the lead late in the game when Kevin Keister doubled to knock in pinch runner Kaden Bredickas in the bottom of the sixth. Ethan DeRegis followed that with a 2 rbi hit and won by a 4-1 score.

Tommy Tracey and Cole Reynolds combined on the mound scattering 4 hits with 10 strikeouts. DMA's Colin Smith pitched a strong game as well allowing 4 hits with 2 k's over 5 innings.

DeRegis led all hitters with 2 hits and 2 rbi. Smith, Jackson Tyer, Mason McCloskey, and Zachary Morris each had hits for the Jaguars as they defeated the Sussex Tech Ravens in a hard fought 1-0 ballgame.
Joey Davis and Matt Warrington went blow for blow in a pitchers duel. Davis allowed 4 hits while striking out 11 Tech batters earning him the hard fought win. Warrinton struck out 9 Appo batters and only allowed 1 hit. Both teams had runners in scoring position in the 5th inning but could not scrape one across. After a lightning delay, Mason Keene got things started for Appo in the bottom half of the 8th with a walk, he then stole second and took third on a overthrown ball to second. After a strikeout, Lorenzo Carrier was walked intentionally and with 1st and 3rd Krew Bouldin drove a ball to left field walking it off for Appo. Snead had a double for Sussex Tech.

5-29-19-DIAA Baseball Quarter Finals

Salesianum starting pitcher, Reece Bolton threw 4 shut out innings with 9 strike outs. Salesianum designated hitter, Matt Querey, went 2 for 3 with a double and a triple and 4 RBIs. Dominic Regazzo had a 2 RBI home run to left field to pace the Sals to a 7-1 win over the Quakers of Wilmington Friends. Jack Taylor had a base hit and a run scored for Wilmington Friends.

Caravel 5 Salesianum 1 6-1-19 Semi Final Game

Kevin Keister pitched 6 strong innings allowing 4 hits, 1 run and 8 strikeouts to earn the win. Cole Reynolds came on in the 7th to earn the save with 3 strikeouts. Alex Lindstrom has 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Adam Slavin also had 2 hits and 1 rbi. Ethan DeRegis, Cole Reynolds, and Jakob Hoffman each had a hit and rbi.

Alex Hinton pitched 7 strong innings for the Sals in the loss. He also had a hit and knocked in their only run. Dom Ragazzo reached base three times with a triple and 2 walks.

6-2-19 Appoquimink wins 2nd baseball title in school history with 3-0 win over Caravel

Appo secured the State Championship Title behind a 2 hit shutout by Joey Davis and Krew Bouldin. Joey battled for 6 innings against a tough Buccaner offense scattering 2 hits with 7 walks and 4 strikeouts. Krew Bouldin came in the 7th inning and struck out the side to earn the save. Gabe Dermott was crucial on the defensive side back picking 2 Carvael runners and throwing out 1 more on a steal attempt. Lorenzo Carrier doubled home the second run of the game in the bottom of the 5th, he had 2 hits. Ethan DeRegis and Anthony Nardo both reached base twice for Caravel.
