12-1-17 Games

Dickinson wins their first of the year game against District-rival McKean by a 44-27 score to advance to the Championship Game of the 17th Annual Lady Rams Winter Classic.

Lynnjay Brown led all scorers with 24 points, including 4 three pointers. She also had 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Tamera Williams had 2 three pointers and finished with 7 points.

Br'nyea Spratley had 5 points, and dished out 8 assists on the night.

Jailen Vega led McKean with 9 points, which included a three pointer.

Dickinson will play Newark HS for the Championship at 1:30 pm. McKean will play Glasgow in the Consolation Game at 10:00 am

In the first round of the Tiger Basketball Classic that is being held at AI DuPont High School, the Lady Cougars of Delcastle behind the 15 point performance of Aliyah Greene and Da Quira Lancaster paced the Cougars of Delcastle to a 48-29 win over the Lady Tigers of Alexis I DuPont. The Lady Tigers were led by Nylaa White with 12.

15 points by Micah Shelton, 10 points by Janiya Stevens paced the Lady Ravens to a 54-32 win over the Lady Senators of Dover High. The Lady Senators were led by Tamyah Jones with 15.

Woodbridge played strong defensively, keeping their opponents below 20 points. Freshman guard Jamiya Scott, provided 14 points; knocking down 3 deep from beyond the arc. Woodbridge freshman
forward Cindy Johnson contributed to the Raiders strong offensive performance with a double-double, scoring 18 pts and grabbing 12 rebounds as they defeated the Lady Blue Jays of Seaford 47-18.

Natalie Alessandrini and DD Shepherd lead the Spartans of St Marks with 13 and 14 points as they defeated Delaware Academy of Public Safety and Security by a 71-7 score

28 points by Micah Yarbray and 10 points by Shawnae Sykes paced the Lady Colonials of William Penn to a 52-21 win over the Vikings of Christiana.

Strong play by Camryn Breasure (12 points and 12 rebounds) and Abby Agapito (12 points, 9 rebounds and a sweet 3-pointer) led another tenacious team effort for 49-46 the Lady Royals second come-from-behind victory, out scoring Delmar 18-12 in 4th Qtr and winning by a 49-46 score.

18 point performance by Kennedy Brown paced the Lady Hornets of Tatnall to a 46-40 win over the Lady Cougars of Delcastle as they won the 2017 AI DuPont Tiger Classic. Taylor Pittman led the Lady Cougars with 18 points.

The Lady Rams of Dickinson won their own Lady Rams Winter Classic Tournament with a solid 61-32 win against Newark.
Lynnjay Brown led all scorers again with 22 points, and 3-three pointers. She also added 7 assists and 3 steals. Br'nyea Spratley scored 17 points and had 2 - three pointers and 5 assists; both were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Tamera Williams chipped in another 14 points for the LadyRams.
Ayanna Holt was named to the All-Tournament Team; she scored 7 points. Katie Kinsella had 2-three pointers for the Yellow Jackets. Selena Whelan was also named All-Tournament for Newark.

For 3rd place in the Tigers Basketball Classic, 15 points by Christina Bourantas paced the Lady Warriors of Wilmington Christian to a 43-19 win over the Lady Tigers of AI.

In the 3rd place game of the Rams Basketball Classic, the Lady Highlanders on 11 points by Khalia Hart and 10 by Gar'neysha Johnson defeated the Lady Dragons of Glasgow by a 31-13 score.

Down to the last minute game between the Lady Hillers and Lady Rams. Great play by both teams as the Lady Rams of Dickinson won by a 43-30 over Tower Hill.
Lynnjay Brown led all scorers with 25 points, including 5-three pointers (4 in the 4th qtr). Good rebounding by Dickinson helped them out down the stretch. Tower Hill was led by Elena Attix with 12 points, Natalie Hobbs with 9 points, and Grace Nestor with 8 points.
Tah'jae Rogers chipped in 7 for the LadyRams. Tamera Williams also had 5 points.

Host Padua Academy (2-2) dropped a non-conference game to Tatnall Monday night 42-40. Shelby Bailey-Smiley led all scorers with 18 points for the Hornets and Kennedy Brown contributed with 13. Camryn Scully led Padua with 13 points, and Bella Julian added 11.

In a first Insurance Cup first round contest, the Lady Colonials of William Penn defeated the Lady Quakers of Wilmington Friends by a 49-44 score. Shawnae Sykes Davis and Micah Yarbray each led with 15 points for the Lady Colonials and Natalie DePaulo led the Lady Quakers of Friends with 16.

Senior Bella Julian scored a game high 23 points to lead Padua Academy (4-3, 0-1)to a 44-35 over (St. Joseph's of MD)victory in the first round of the New Castle Insurance Cup of the Diamond State Classic at St. Elizabeth's High School. Senior Camryn Scully added 10 for the Pandas who take on William Penn in the championship game on Thursday afternoon.

In overtime 17 points by Chris Bourantas and 14 by Janae Carter paced the Lady Warriors of Wilmington Christian to a 38-35 win over the Lady Quakers of Wilmington Friends. Natalie DePaulo led the Lady Quakers with 20 points.

Olivia Tucker led Sanford with 23 points on 5 for 9 shooting from behind the arc. Lauren Park-Lane added 16 points, 10 assists and 5 steals for the Warriors. Sophomore Allie Kubek contributed 14 points and 8 rebounds, along with 5 steals. Samantha Pollich had 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals. 8th grader Amiya Carroll pulled down 6 rebounds coming off the bench.

1-27-18 Games

18 points by Tameeyah Bowden, 11 points by Raeonna Stratton, 10 points by Ambria Stratton paced the Lady Golden Knights of Sussex Central to a 56-52 win over the Lady Ravens of St. Thomas More Academy. The Lady Ravens were led by Aniah Patterson with 18 points and 14 by Jessica Simmons.

Azayah Garrison 13 points and 10 by Raeonna Stratton paced the Lady Golden Knights of Sussex Central to a 44-42 win over the Senators of Dover.

The Lady Vikings and Lady Rams squared off in a Flight B Conference Game, with Dickinson prevailing at the end, 57 - 21.

Lynnjay Brown led the Lady Rams with 37 points (6 three pointers). Tah'Jae Rogers finsihed the game with the other 20 points for Dickinson.

For Christiana, Meisha Coles had 11 points, with Sabrina Nyandiba, Jastin Washington, and Cierra Brown all scoring for the Lady Vikings

What the heck happened in that game especially with Mason’s return? UA seems to be trending downward which is not good being in the back half of the season. I’m sure Noonan will have them playing better leading into the playoffs.
