Justabasketballfan, we can agree the money makers are football and bball. Bball 13 scholarships, high profit, lower cost. 13 young men not going to put a strain on any 10, 15 or 30000 person university. Football teams consist of 90-130. Stadiums full = profits, advertising, donations, recognition. Any bowl games or post season= high profits. College sports is a business period. Too much money on the table for UD to continue with its old ways. The NCAA clearinghouse was put in place to screen and take pressure of universities. I think going forward any highly talent kids that gets academic clearance gets in. If it was all about the academics they wouldn't fire the coach, he was losing them money and sports like any serious business that gets u canned.
