Matt Mellette's 2 touchdown runs of 35 and 21 yards sparks Concord in 34-11 win over AI DuPont

Willauer-Contributing Editor-Tiger Stadium-AI DuPont High School-Friday, October 25, 2013-The Concord Raiders improve their record to 4-4 overall and 4-2 in Flight A after some earlier tough losses to Middletown, Salesianum and to William Penn after leading 7-3 at the half on the first of 2 Matt Mellette 2 yard runs came back as they came back on Brycen Alleyne's (9 carries for 90 yards) 60 yard run for TD, Matt Mellette's (15 carries for 183 yards) 2nd touchdown run of 21 yards and Thomas Camper's 30 yard fumble return defeated the Tigers of Alexis I DuPont at 4-4 overall and 3-3 Flight A by a 34-11 score.



George Kosanovich Concord Head Football Coach: "It was a good game that we had to win our kids did what they had to do did well AI has a lot of outstanding athletes on their squad." "Bryan Dennis and Matt Mellette had nice holes the offensive line blocked well for us but in the first half we made a lot of mistakes but its high school football." "On Thomas Camper 30 yard fumble run for a touchown he didn't give up the first time but the second time around he did very well." "AI is a very explosive ballclub and have outstanding qb's running backs and wide receivers we made big plays didn't take any chances defensively for the last 2 years we ended up with a 6-4 and hopefully we'll make the playoffs with 1 point but if we didn't it will be as what it is."



For the Tigers of Alexis I DuPont QB Freddie Heard 11 carries for 60 yards scored on a 9 yard run and in passing 8 completions out of 18 attempts for 103 yards.
