i was just thinking. When the country was in transition music played a big role. You can hear a song and know what was going on socially. We’re in that state now and there is no music movement? Has music become such a business now? Bubble gum shit or am I not privy to the underground anymore?
 
Without getting political - because I see enough of that BS elsewhere online - I think part of it stems from the desire of either the artists or their record companies (for lack of a better term) not to offend anyone. In addition, the corporations are more likely to align with the current administration.

There are a few artists out there who have not been afraid to make their feelings known. Most are hip hop artists, from what I have read. Here are a few links:
