So many teams play such weak schedules throughout the state. St. Elizabeth’s, Woodbridge, Cape, Sussex Tech and two of the weakest are Delmarva Christian and St. Thomas More. St. Elizabeth’s played a decent in state schedule but nothing else other than Westtown and Neshaminy who are weaker PA teams. Woodbridge played no other ranked opponents in state. If they played any of the other top teams they wouldn’t be 20-0. Sussex Tech plays a weak schedule every year vs bad teams with good records so they can accumulate bonus points but then get beat handily in the tournament. Cape didn’t play the strongest schedule but I’m sure they’ll strengthen it over the next few seasons. And we all know what St. Thomas does each year and then they play in a Maryland conference of some weak teams along with Delmarva Christian. Sanford, Conrad, and Caravel really challenged themselves by playing some very good teams and in good tournaments. Sussex Central at least played three of the top four teams in the state which will serve them well come tournament time.

So you crying about what??? Just because teams don't play Conrad, Sanford, Caravel..

The Henlopen ladies can be good at everything. Basketball is one off the weaker sports along with volleyball. Then you get to soccer, lacrosse, softball and you could say the upstate teams are not as strong with exception being the private’s. Other than Caravel most of the upstate teams standout in one major sport where a number of Henlopen teams are competitive in multiple sports.

As I said in another thread we know who's good and who's not when it matters most. If the teams mentioned above make some noise in the tournament this year, more power to them. School like Cape and Woodbridge are tied to the conference for the most part in terms of schedule. STMA, well...

Also St. E's schedule being weak doesn't hold weight. Westtown and Neshaminy are doing very well in their respective regions/leagues and St. E's looked pretty good in wins over tournament teams like Howard/Caravel/Archmere/Ursuline and gutted out a win over a really good Hodgson team. Conrad's their only in-state L because, well...Conrad's defending state champs for a reason.

In defense of St. Thomas More: They've been burned a few times over the last few seasons, particularly in volleyball, with teams canceling on them. That, in turn, cost their opponents points when it came to tournament time because STMA would not have enough games, and all of their games were turned to scrimmages. They went in search of a conference for scheduling certainty and found it in the ESIAC. The problem is that most of the conference is not very good in basketball.

They have played decent competition in-state this year: Hodgson, Polytech, Sussex Central, Sanford, Conrad. They play as many of these teams as they can each year. The school doesn't have the resources to play in She Got Game and some of the other showcases. I'd like to see them get into the Diamond State Classic.

Like @ReturnOfTheGate said teams like Cape are tied to their conference but I can assure you the program wants to play a more talented schedule they scheduled St E , Padua and Appo this reg season along with scrimmaging St Thomas and Sanford.
