Howard already played 7-0 Smyrna, so they should be a +1 for a total of 18 points.

Dma is in front of Milford... Milford beat the brakes off them.. D2 need change point system...

Anything can happen but Unless there is a big upset Middletown will be a the 1 seed and Smyrna the 2.
If you are like the Cape, Central, the Slowskys, Concord or Penn where would you rather visit in the semis? Smyrna or Middletown. I am sure Central would welcome a rematch with Smyrna.

DMA has 5 D2 wins....20 pts and 1 D1 win vs Poly that's plus 6, then a bonus for Milford. Shouldn't that be 27?

Smryna still goes to Cape... Cape very similar to Central but way bigger backs... If UCA transfer dont play that game..Cape got a great shot... Stay windy by the beach ..

Seems as though Caravel should also be 20 points

Concord - 1
Elkton - 2 (Division 1 and 7 wins)
Delmar - 4
Salesianum - 1
Archmere - 4
St. Mark's - 4
Silver Oak - 4

Total - 20

Well Howard does face a must-win each of the next two weeks, starting with Glasgow this Friday night and Mount next week. If they win those two games and manage not to fall asleep against Dickinson in Week 10, that adds another piece to an already wild puzzle.

Of the 20 pts teams Tatnall projects to 3.4, DelMar 2.8 assuming they dont beat Mil or Wood, Tower Hill 3.0, Caravel 3.3 if loses to Cape but beats HVT

Tatnall is shoe in for the 7th spot.. CA could get the last spot even with a loss this week but a win would get them in for sure... Delmar could really be a spoiler if they find a way to upset Milford or Woodbridge

Teams not named Tower Hill(divides by 9) need to get to at least 33 or 34 pts to have a shot

Caravel wins this week, they're definitely in, no doubt in my mind. As you said, even with a loss, they'll still get a bonus point because Cape should get to 8 wins and I don't expect Tower to beat friends or Delmar to beat either Woodbridge or Milford. But any given Friday night/Saturday.

have projected bonus points for Elkton and Concord as well

CA can't take the HVT game lightly.. HVT has taken home Back Yard Brawl trophy the last couple years. Being this might be the last one in awhile who ever takes it home keeps it indefinitely.. This game will be HVT's season for them well CA's also

I wanted to get some of the quote off the page. My reply is inside the old quote.

Without doing any math is it possible for Sussex Central to win out (7-3) and Concord going (2-1) to finish 7-3 and SC not jump them?

SC with a tough defense and the three current losses could have easily gone the other way. Would be a shame to see them miss out. Staunch competition in those three losses.

Cheers,

Busch

The DIAA needs to just say forget the point system and go off your record. DIAA is so far behind of these other states and their rules are horrible. Delaware sports are in a choke hold. They wanted fixed for these catholic schools to be in it all the time. Politics is a bitch

Busch08 I was looking at that earlier yes it is possible Central can jump Concord and take that spot.. I havent projected bonus out but they will be a bout the same for both I believe.. Pretty sure if Central wins out Concord is going to have upset MT to get in

100% correct.. But if you go on just record.. They will have even more control.. Its a no win situation... Thats wats killen downstate bad...

Central get in if Concord loose to MT... if iam correct would get 3 plus 2s bonus pionts and jump Concord by 2 pionts if everything play out...

I was saying last week the Penn v Concord game was a play-off game.. Sucks for A Roberts and Concord not getting in the last two years.. Anything can still happen. Gonna have to beat MT though or hope Central loses to poly, Dover or IR... Tall order

Not so sure.....Even if they lost to Middletown, I believe Concord finishing at 7-3 would still get a total of 4 bonus points: 2 bonus points for Middletown, 1 for Sallies, and 1 for Penn. From the point index, it looks like Central's bonus points are already added in. Concord's bonus points have not been included.

Rooster that's good to hear. SC is a tough squad with a solid resume' on it's schedule in terms of maybe not beating teams with winning records, but they sure are playing them tough.

How would this work for a basic point system in DE.

Division 1
Play and beat another Division 1 program earn 100 points for victory + an additional 10 points for that opponents wins throughout the season.

Play and beat a Division 2 program earn 80 points for victory + an additional 10 points for that opponents wins throughout the season.

All games that you lose you accumulate 10 points for each opponents win.

Division 2
Play and beat a Division 1 program earn 120 points for victory + an additional 10 points for that opponents wins throughout the season.

Play and beat a Division 2 program earn 100 points for victory + an additional 10 points for that opponents wins throughout the season.

All games that you lose you accumulate 10 points for each opponents win.

I would think this would give more incentive for Top Division 1 teams to schedule Top Division 2 teams. If the Division 1 team wins and Division 2 team has a 6-7-8-9 win season you are looking at more points than you'd get for a poor Division 1 team.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it might not be a bad place to start.

Cheers,

Busch

I like the current system. To paraphrase Alexander Hamilton's Treatise on Taxation it is "equitable, neutral and easy to administer."

You could make the argument that conferences getting a automatic bid isn't equitable but it is highly unlikely that a conference winner wouldn't have enough points to get into a 6 or 8 team tourney.

I just watched the game. Believe me, Smyrna would welcome a rematch with Central even more!

If Central wins out they will have 44 also +1or2 from Cape, poss +1 Smynra poss+1 Interboro, poss +1 Queen Annes
if Concord loses to MT they will have 43 also +1 or 2 MT, poss +1 sals, poss +1 Penn

Interboro has tough opponent this week and Queen Annes plays Kent Island in two weeks.. big games for Central

Its going to be tight.. looks pretty certain Concord will get all 4 .. Centrals pts from the OOS teams definitely not a given going to need 1 or the 2 of them for in outright otherwise were looking at tiebreakers..

Sat 1pm 8-1 Interboro visits 7-2 Penn Wood

Busch08 could probably give us some insight on these teams

Central could end up with 4 9 win D1 teams on their schedule.. crazy.. Cape will have to upset Smyna for that to be possible though

That's what I was thinking. Something didn't look right. I noticed that everyone had already received bonus points, but Concord was the only team who's points were based only on their wins. I would like to see them get in, only if Bam Roberts isn't done for the season. IMHO that would be the only way they will be competitive offensively or I would even care to watch them compete. Any update on when or if he is returning?

I didn't get to catch the Sallies and WP games, but from what I am told and reading, the last 2 weeks showed how much they needed him. Taking nothing from Penn, but Concord is predictable, but it is a totally different offensive team when Bam is in the game. Also, a 4th and goal from the 1, wouldn't have been an issue if he were playing. One key person going down may have hurt Concord, but I hope they will be okay.
