Walked over to Bob Carpenter Center after the UD/DSU baseball game expecting to see my Milford Bucs but find out they shut down ticket sales? WTH!!!

They sold out, they sell out every year
There were hundreds of people trying to buy tickets at about 6 pm and literally hundreds more leaving after the first 2 games were over. With today's technology they should be able to re-scan the tickets of those leaving and free up those seats to be sold again. They told everyone it was sold out, but I bet there were nearly a thousand empty seats during the last 2 games! One of the issues with 4 games in a row at the same place.

In the past, The Bob would make announcements asking those leaving to turn their tix in for resale.

Sanford is up 40-23 at the half and Milford has been deadly from the arc. You may have been fortunate that you couldn't get in.

Yes with today's technology you can even buy tickets online a week ahead of time andthen you won't have to worry if they sell out.

They announced after every game to turn in your tickets if you were leaving. But I don't think that works with tickets you print from home does it? I think you can only scan them once? Not sure about this...

They did ask people to return their stubs upon exiting. But I got mine on ticketleap so there were no stubs.

So it sounds like this a big problem the DIAA and UD needs to address. They encourage you to go to Ticketleap for tickets. Then ask you to turn in tickets after you leave. But sounds like printed tickets don't work and people get shut out from later games. Am I getting that right?

I always go for all 4 games So I never thought about this...

They may have to go with 2 double headers for the quarters and empty the joint. Just charge $5 for each set.

The problem is, with 4 games, that's 8 different fan bases that gobble up the tickets, not to mention the fans like me who goes just because I love basketball. Many of those people have no intention of staying for all four games. It's probably easier to get into the semi's (only 4 fan bases). 2 double headers might be the answer.

Well yes- if you had printed tickets then you'd have something to turn in. I had my tix on my phone's e-mail, so they just scanned them and let me in- didn't have a physical ticket in hand so I had nothing to turn in.

Does anyone honestly think the bob n tom show can get it right?

How bad is it that hundreds of empty seats and hundreds wanting to get in.?

And they are hired, paid well,to promote high school sports

Who do they answered to??

no one!!!!!!

An absolute joke. People trying to watch a game and can't get in. Not because it's full mind you, but because they can't figure out a way to resell tickets and make more money. You have got to be kidding me.

So any Milford fans likely got screwed to the tune of 120 miles, $12 weekend toll rates on Route 1, to see no basketball. Maybe the DIAA can put that scenario in their cap and munch on that for a while. Lines extending a couple hundred deep x cost of tix. Could have easily had another $3-4k of income that they just threw away

How hard would it have been for the event staff to eyeball it to see how many seats where open? They’ve could have easily let a couple hundred in. Some venues have portable turnstiles in place at the exits so when you leave they can get an accurate count of people leaving.
